So you want to stay somewhere close to Preikestolen? This wonderful hotel named Preikestolen Fjellstue is the answer. It is the perfect starting and ending point for your hike up to Pulpit Rock. The main building is the hotel lodge where every room has a private bath. Another smaller building is the hostel where the rooms have shared bathrooms. The rooms were alright. Definitely, not fancy. Although, WiFi was included...the signal was not very good inside our room. Had to go down to the lounge area or lobby area in order to use it. Bed wasn't the best, but I still slept well. Breakfast was included with our accommodation, and the food was pretty good. We also tried their restaurant for dinner. Their were only a few entree choices, but all were very good. The Norwegian Meatball entree was my favorite. Would I stay here again? Yup! We've already crossed Preikestolen off our bucket list, but I recommend staying at this lodge when you are in this part of Norway. read more

I stayed one night here in a 2-bedroom hostel by myself for one of my hikes to Preikestolen. The rooms were clean when I visited, and the staff was nice and spoke great English. Check-in and check-out was a breeze, they give you a key tied to a wooden knob/plank with your room number. The location is great as you are right by Pulpit Rock, but there are a variety of activities you can do on-site. One of the best things here was the free breakfast. I stayed there the entire time, people watching and trying out all the unique foods from the area. I also had lunch here as well, which was reasonably priced considering the price of food everywhere else in Norway. read more

Mixed review about this place. Food I would give 4stars to.... had the meatballs with potatoes and vegetable and they were delicious. A bit pricey but expected in a place like this Service I would give 2stars....staff was not attentive at all. We had to wait quite awhile to order, even though when we were seated there were only 2 other tables that had guests. If we wanted something we had to wave our Hands to get their attention. Worse was when we wanted the check. Customer service at the front desk/gift shop was terrible!!! I had a question about an item that they were selling and was basically given an "i really don't care if you buy it or not" attitude in return read more

It's definitely not the Radisson Blu or even a Holiday Inn Express back in the US, but you don't come here to be pampered in an elegant room with all kinds of amenities. You come here to explore the amazing hiking trails. The buffet breakfast was good and a lamb shank dinner in the restaurant was very good. The rooms are clean and you have a bed and a bathroom. Out the window is the lake and mountains. Beautiful one of a kind place and friendly staff. read more
