Parking can be a bit tight out front, but there's usually a fair amount of room near the back. After booking the venue tour over a week out, we received nothing from the venue (pricing packet, etc.) until we were on the way there. Once we arrived, no one was there to greet us and we had to walk around the venue searching for someone to host the tour, which other reviews have mentioned. After the conclusion of the tour, I was told the date I was interested in was available. Two days later, I contacted the venue and expressed my intention to pursue booking the date. After not hearing back for quite a few days, I called twice and was finally able to get in touch with the event director, who again verbally confirmed my date was available. After getting excited about having a date and moving forward, I received an email that there was a miscommunication and the date was indeed booked by someone else. I understand mistakes happen, but it should not have been confirmed without further review. On their behalf, they did offer a discount on an additional date. After we finally received the contract for our new date, we felt the need to add addendums to include facility maintenance due to the fact that lightbulbs were out over the ceremony space when we toured (with a wedding taking place in three days). Once we presented the addendums, the entire tone of the event director changed. They became very defensive, rude, and condescending. We toured plenty of venues that would be willing to bend over backwards to make your wedding day the best it can be. Seemed to be the total opposite here. It felt as though we were viewed as just another number and they wanted to be very hands off. In my opinion, be advised that you may struggle with communication, lack of professionalism and disorganization.

The ballroom--- with no decor is absolutely stunning. High ceilings, large chandeliers, the walls lined with large windows and of course the black and white checkered flooring. Once we added in decor it was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. If you're getting married here add greenery to the chandeliers for a big WOW factor. The cocktail area outside it's lined with market lights and has fire pits-- the perfect place to entertain guests once you add one of the venues bars. And finally the ceremony space is covered-- which was perfect because it started to lightly rain at the beginning of our ceremony. It also has the market lights, the red brick steps, and a large beautiful white porch. There are lots of restrooms around the venue which was perfect for hosting a lot of people-- I've been to weddings where there were lines for the bathroom and no one likes that. The grooms quarters are perfect if you're a guy that loves poker, drinking, playing games, and relaxing. The grounds are kept very sharp and there are so many places to take pictures. Now-- Amy Plyler is the venue event planner and also who we chose to be our wedding planner--- you have the option to choose an external coordinator but you would be silly to because there are so many perks to hiring Amy and her assistant Jannah. They are an amazing team and made sure everything ran perfectly the day of. I had the most beautiful wedding and I did not stress at all day of because I put my trust in them. When it rained-- they quickly pivoted. They remembered all of my small details and arranged all of our decor perfectly. Even things I thought I'd forget or didn't think about they were there to help. They also have a lot of things you can use at the venue which saves you from spending extra money. They are simply the best and I am honestly sad I don't have reason to talk to them on a regular basis now but I will certainly keep in touch. Have your wedding here. Staff is a 12 out of 10. Valet super nice and helpful, check in and front desk staff always efficient and a delight to deal with same for housekeepers or any other staff we met along the way. This is the only hotel I have stayed at in the States that I think their bathroom is about comparable to ours at home. There is a separate space for the commode which offers some nice privacy if 2 are sharing the room. Housekeepers were adorable they placed out toiletries on emerald green cloths on the counter I truly believe the prettiest place in Charlotte to see the sun rise is at the indoor pool and spa area. It is gorgeous. Love that the pool area is more spa pool vibes with spa music. Hot tub is turned on by a button panel on the wall. Inside the hot tub there is a place to turn up or down the intensity of the jets. The hot tub has pretty colors in it from the underwater lighting. There is a great array of seating without feeling crowded. Meticulously cleaned. Like any time of day the indoor pool space was clean. I do like what they use instead of chlorine it was more gentle on my hair and skin. TV is a bit below average. Streaming speed is pretty slow. Limited on which streaming services that can be accessed. Additionally, the volume jumps a lot like the tv can be unable to be heard you turn the volume up and it is good. Then a second later it is super loud. Spouse said most modern tvs have an auto feature that manages this. But this is on Marriott and not the hotel as with some research it showed this is a pretty common issue most folks have about the tvs. We are buying a Roku stick to try and use in the future to access other streaming services we pay for at home. The beds are better than other hotels in the Marriott family but spouse and I still find them a bit uncomfortable. I would like to have them a more memory foam material than the spring with pillow top. Wardrobe was awesome it is a nice size. Lights up when the doors are opened and has a pretty floral scape along the back of it. I was able to keep my carry on sized suitcase in there. Spouse was able to hand my dress and his sports coat and pants for event we were going to. Room had plenty of counter space in the room and bathroom. This was great. Oddly there seemed to be drums that started playing outside at like 9am on Saturday that woke us both up. There was a wedding going on that weekend and I know they had some breakfasts not sure if there was maybe a morning ceremony too? Noise didn't last super long but woke us both up. The windows you can hear a fair amount of noise through from the street. Ordered room service I think 3 times. Very excellent experience each and every time. Each item was cooked perfectly and things like grilled chicken breast were still juicy and not overcooked. My K Lounge review will be separate from hotel but same 5/5. We enjoyed our stay. Staff and overall care of the hotel cleanliness wise made it even better.

We headed to the Aqua Lounge to relax and decided to order food. There was no staff in sight, so I eventually walked downstairs to place the order myself. The food was underwhelming, and it took 40 minutes for a turkey BLT, no napkins, it was an overall poor experience. We wanted to enjoy the hot tub but the jets were broken. You'd think everything would be fully functional in a hotel/spa of this caliber. I don't mind paying an automatic service charge when service is actually provided, but that wasn't the case here. I find that staff is less likely to care when the gratuity is automatic, which held true at this spa. The spa itself is beautiful, serene, and well designed. Our technicians, Renata and Kieyan, were professional, warm, and truly the highlight of the entire visit. If I were rating solely based on them, it would be a full five stars. If you're only looking for a great massage, I'd recommend this spa. If you're seeking a full luxury spa experience, go elsewhere.

Everyone I encountered on site this past week was so courteous, hardworking and welcoming. If you are attending an event here, definitely bring a sweater or wear layers, as the rooms were quite cold. Wear comfy shoes too and expect a lot of walking and long bathroom and Starbucks lines, in between conference sessions. But overall, a nice experience here. The food court area offers some quick and affordable lunch options. There are also restaurant and hotel options within a short walk. Be cautious when crossing the public transit lines, as the trains move fast.

LOCATION I attended a conference that was held at the Charlotte Convention Center for a work week and was surprised at how close everything was to the convention. It was surrounded by hotels, restaurants, Whole Foods, a CVS, and the NASCAR Hall of Fame. It was easy to get around Uptown from the convention. INSIDE THE CONVENTION: It was easy to navigate within the convention, too, as the signs were clearly labeled. The only thing I thought was odd were the rooms in 206-212 (where you'd have to go down escalators and then come back up). I would have labeled it a different number sequence so as not to be confusing with the other set of rooms in the 200s. I loved that there was a bridge that connected the convention to our hotel (2nd floor of The Westin), as well as access from the NASCAR Hall of Fame directly in front of the Crown Ballroom! CUSTOMER SERVICE & STAFF: Each day during the conference, my coworker and I would walk from our hotel (The Westin, which was across the street) and we would be greeted by the friendliest door greeters / information desk. Also, we went around the Richardson Ballrooms, exhibit hall, smaller rooms, terrace (roof), Crown Ballroom, etc. it was carpeted so it was easy to walk on. The convention staff including the Food & Service team were really nice and were attentive; they made sure to keep the food area tidy and cleared away trash from the tables. The bartenders serving drinks were organized as well. DINING OPTIONS INSIDE THE CONVENTION: The convention had other dining options: Starbucks, Bojangles, Einstein Bagels, and another place to purchase food. Overall, I enjoyed the ease of getting around the convention center, the proximity to hotels and restaurants in Uptown Charlotte, the amenities they offered, and the attentive staff at Charlotte Convention Center.
