That's when I found this place. It was only a 15 minute drive from where I was staying. When I rolled up it didn't appear to be overly busy which was great. I wasn't thrilled about the $4 parking fee and the machine only took cash. Fortunately I had some ones on me. Okay, whatever I'll do anything for my boy to be happy. So we get into the park and begin playing, we hang around for about 45 minutes and all of a sudden my dog is limping. Apparently there was something sharp on the ground that cause my dog to slice off the fatty layer of his paw pad. I am extremely upset and we will never ever return to this park. I hope this warning is heard and that way no other dogs need to suffer. I expected significantly more being that this is a paid park.

There are plenty of benches for dog owners to sit on and a water spigot and water buckets and a kiddy pool for dogs to drink water and play in. Every time I have gone I've met lovely and responsible dog owners. I've never had any issues with aggressive or reactive dogs. The regulars at this dog park seem very friendly and nice. I wouldn't recommend bringing your dog here if it is pouring down rain outside. The park can get really muddy very quickly. On several occasions I've left with my dog covered in mud! But otherwise a really nice fenced area for dogs!

Two sections, but doesn't seem like "small" dog section gets used much Water Bags Trash Picnic tables and benches Lots of shade (it was 93 degrees today) Good parking Fenced with 6 foot black cyclone fencing Double gates I wish kiddie pools were not brought in. If you must get an aluminum hot water heater tray. That is all dogs need, any aged person can refresh the water, and they don't break when dogs stand on top of them. On top of it they have a hole to chain and lock the tray up. Easy! People don't refresh the pool water as there is too much to dump it, or it breaks the pool to dump it. Then dogs drink and stand in nasty water. If dogs get sick on anything in dog park it will be water!! When pools are flipped over then dogs stand on them and break them. Then there is nasty water underneath. Do us all a favor, if you fill pools dump them away from the area the pools sit in (there are buckets - water the poor trees, whatever) and then get some wood chips and soak extra water up with a bucket of wood chips. It took me 5 minutes to get three buckets of chips from around the edges where the chips are breaking the fences. Ask the city to put in a percolator pit of rocks that will drain easy. I ask Scott's Valley to do it and they did!! They probably have rocks already so then just send a city worker with a bobcat to dig the hole and it's pretty much done! I wish the side single gate had a lock on it. Want to go next door? Walk around. I don't want me dog being let out into the other section. What's the point of a separate section if someone lets my dog into other section? It's STANDARD protocol to lock single gates. I liked it here. It has lots going for it.

I myself had this concern but this is my second visit and decided to share this hidden gem. Parking is limited and I mean limited. Hopefully I'm as lucky the 3rd time when visiting Zumwalt. I don't want to figure out where to park offsite. Once your parked and ready to go you'll notice a roadway however the gate is locked for any motor vehicle to drive on. This is a plus since many dog owners take dogs off leash and walk down this road to get to main area of park. The park is huge but keep in mind to those sensitive dog owners who don't want any dogs near their precious dog this is an open park. No secured areas for small dogs. Go at your own risk. I think because of the large open property there is less anxiety for the dogs because they don't feel trapped. Three things you'll find, water to swim, open green grass to run, and trails to walk your dog off leash which I really find fun since most trails require dog to be on leash. That being said, if you found this post keep it hush hush to ourselves (LOL). I shared some photos and videos of the lake, trails and park. Hope this helps. In the winter/spring months it does get VERY muddy and there's no shade for the hot days of summer, so plan accordingly. Parking is just along the street (Throne Drive) but easy. The doggy bag stations always seem to be stocked, though the two water outlets are testy and not always working.

I still recommend bringing your own toys, but these make good fun for any dogs forgetting theirs. It would be awesome if it had a covered area for humans, but it does have a picnic bench and a few chairs. I highly suggest you wear clothes/shoes you don't mind getting muddy/dirty, especially in the rainy months. Our two labradoodles had a GREAT time playing with the other dogs and just running and being dogs in a large area. Highly recommended for fun-loving dogs and humans alike!

The off-leash area spans several acres and is fully fenced, offering plenty of room for dogs to run safely. It's located within Eugene's beautiful riverfront park and includes two separate sections for large and small dogs, which I really appreciate. There are thoughtful amenities throughout, including water stations, shaded seating, picnic tables, and even covered shelters for those rainy Oregon days. One of my favorite features is the walking trail inside the fenced area, so you can get your own exercise in while your pup explores. This park is well maintained, the pet owners are thoughtful and extremely friendly, and this has consistently been a great stop for my BFF Elsa as well as for myself.
