I tried to free it up as best as I could by lubricating the steering rod and ensuring the engine turned freely on its pivot, but nothing worked. Monday morning I began calling all local vendors looking for a steering cable that I might be able to replace. Fortunately, I finally contacted Inflatable Boat Pro and spoke with Ken, one of the owners. He said that he would check for a cable and call me back. As promised, he called back, had a cable, and advised the 50 hp engine might have to come off to replace the cable. If I could get the tender to a local boat ramp he would arrange for a pick up. I explained that I was trying to cross on Wednesday and he said he would do what he could. Ken's driver met me as promised within two hours, put the tender on a trailer, and drove me back to Hall of Fame Marina where our trawler Shangri-La was located. Tuesday morning Ken sent me several photos of the engine removed from the tender and the work underway. Not only were these folks able to replace the steering cable that day, they also did a full annual service on the outboard. Ken himself picked me up at the marina with the tender on the trailer and drove me to the ramp and launched me Tuesday afternoon in a perfectly functioning tender. This simply could not have been a better experience. Prompt response, professional services, accommodating our time constraints with a 24 hour turnaround, and a very reasonable charge for expertly performed high quality work were provided. It is good that fate was on our side and looking out for us. Our friend that recommended your facility was just charged an exorbitant amount for a repair that should have been covered by a warranty. When I questioned him concerning the repair cost he told me that the purchase was "without warranty". I have never heard of such a thing. As a former business owner, my word was my bond. I would never cheat a customer over a couple of dollars concerning a repair. To begin with, your employee was woefully unprepared. I assisted your customer with the delivery of his dinghy to the launch ramp. When we arrived, your man was late (first problem). The second problem was that he was unprepared to make the necessary, minor repair to the dinghy as he had no access to electricity to run the inflation pump (a low cost inverter should be part of the stock equipment) which should be backed up by a manual pump. The repair should have been made at the launch ramp and you should have eaten the cost of the repair as a matter of good relations with customers both current and future. I was having lunch with your customer when he got your bill, a bill that should never have been generated. To say the least, I will not be back for that dinghy. You have stolen from your customer at the cost of your good name. I will be posting this on YELP to assist your potential customers in making the right decision which is obviously to go to another dealer with scruples. The only reason I have given this dealer one star is because there is nothing lower. Negative stars would be appropriate.

We hired DJ's Dive Service to monthly bottom clean our boat, including taking photos of the…read morecondition of the zinc anodes. He quoted us a price that was higher for the initial cleaning than for subsequent cleanings. He told us if the zincs needed to be changed we would be charged for the zincs but the labor for changing the zincs would be free. It was determined that the trim tab zincs and the shaft zincs needed to be replaced, but his divers said they couldn't remove them. So DJ came out several days later and replaced them. Then he sent us an invoice charging us for his labor! We didn't feel like we were responsible for, nor should we pay for, his workers' ineptness. After the second cleaning he sent us an invoice at the initial higher first cleaning rate. When I pointed that out, he provided a corrected invoice. When DJ installed the new zincs he left the old trim tab zincs on the dock, but didn't leave the old shaft zincs on the dock. When we asked why not, he said it was because there weren't any zincs on the shafts. We found that to be suspicious because we had witnessed them being installed just several months earlier during a haul out. At the next bottom cleaning DJ said his divers would take photos of the zincs. When they showed up, they said both of their cameras were broken. So we loaned them our GoPro to take the photos. They only took pictures of the trim tab zincs, but not the shaft zincs. So I donned a mask with my GoPro and dived under the boat to see for myself. The old shaft zincs were still on the shafts along with the new ones. So DJ had lied about there not being any previous shaft zincs. When I asked him about this, he got all pissed off and said he didn't want to work for us anymore! If you are going to hire him our advice is: Grab a mask and verify their work yourself underneath the boat before paying them.

He buffs all smooth surfaces and waxes. All the vinyl is scrubbed, all traces of mold removed and a nice sealer on top. My fire extinguisher rusted and got on fiberglass, you would never know. I had some mold get under caulking joints on 10 year old boat, he removed and recaulked, looks brand new. A tru professional, extremely responsive and communicates exactly when he will be there.
