    Best Budget Flooring & Remodeling

After a refrigerator leak caused water damage to our engineered hardwood floor, I called three…read moredifferent flooring companies for an estimate on either a repair or replacement. Due to the age of the floor, and the unavailability of the existing floor product, we had to do a complete replacement. My wife and I were most impressed with Michael Yanez, owner of Best Budget Flooring and Remodeling, so we chose his company for our wood floor replacement. We couldn't be more impressed with the entire process. Best Budget replaced our engineered hardwood with luxury vinyl flooring. It only took Michael's flooring and painting teams three days to complete the project. The floor is approximately 1000 square feet. They moved all of our furniture, hung plastic to prevent dust from invading the rest of our home, removed the quarter round, removed the old floor, sanded and prepped the foundation, installed the new floor, repaired the water damaged baseboards, installed new quarter round, painted all of the baseboards, cleaned up after themselves, and moved all furniture to exactly where we wanted it. We were blown away with how quickly the project was completed. My wife and I absolutely love our new floor. Michael and his team were knowledgeable, professional and very courteous. Michael visited our home several times throughout the three days to make sure everything was going well. I couldn't be more impressed, and we would absolutely use Best Budget Flooring again. We highly recommend this outstanding company.

The only positive was the crew, and even then they left early on day one; they could have finished the job that same day had they worked until 6pm. Instead, I had to waste another day. Before the crew even left my house, Michael rushed over for payment, clearly eager to get his check. I had not inspected the floors yet, including a closet cut too short -- which explains why he wanted payment before I could see the issues. He pushed these floors as "kid and pet friendly," yet they cannot be mopped and require Bona only. He even suggested puppy pads "in case my dogs have accidents," despite my dogs being fully house‑trained. These floating floors were never explained to me until the job was complete. I had no idea they would feel soft, make noise, or click underfoot. One plank even sinks when stepped on, but Michael insisted this was "normal." It is not normal for planks to visibly move or make clicking sounds. His arrogance made it impossible to have a reasonable conversation, so I called a reputable builder to inspect the floors. I was told I could paint the shoe molding beforehand to match my baseboards, but the crew installed white shoe molding anyway -- badly cut, uneven, and now requiring painting. Worse, they left deep gashes in my baseboards and filled some with putty without sanding, making the damage obvious. My baseboards are not white, so every flaw stands out. Michael offered nothing to fix the damage except asking me not to leave a bad review. When I pointed out areas around door casings that never had shoe molding and now looked worse after the original floors were removed, he dismissed it as "just an eyesore" and "not a floor issue." Multiple realtors, including my own, said it absolutely needed to be fixed. His attitude changed only when I mentioned including it in my review; suddenly he suggested caulk as a possible fix. I still haven't inspected every room because furniture is in the way. I'll have to wait for painters and a new flooring company to determine whether there is a subfloor issue, because floors should not crack, bend, or sink. The squishy sound may be something I'm stuck living with. Now I must hire painters to redo over 800 square feet of shoe molding, baseboards, and door casings -- all because his crew left them damaged or unfinished. I gave him the chance to make it right, but he refused accountability. When he asked me to pay extra for materials, I agreed even though I didn't have to. Yet he showed no professionalism, belittled my concerns, and brushed me off. His parting words were "thanks for your business." He is by far the worst person I have ever dealt with professionally. I will never use this company again and will warn anyone I know not to use them. A good business owner should be humble, take responsibility, and fix mistakes -- even when it affects profit. A happy customer becomes a repeat customer, and he has ensured he will never receive repeat business from me.
