What used to feel like a roadside produce stop now hums with the sound of neighbors talking over coffee, kids tugging parents toward kettle corn, and local farmers unloading trucks before the sun gets too high. The market has become a small celebration of the community itself. Fresh vegetables sit beside homemade jellies, local honey, warm bread, eggs, meats, handmade soaps, wooden crafts, and just about anything else that can be grown, baked, carved, stitched, or bottled in Virginia. Food trucks line the edges and give the whole place the feel of a small-town festival instead of a simple market. If you've never gone, make the trip this Saturday. Walk it slowly. Get a bag of popcorn, pick up a cold chicha morada, and spend an hour remembering what local communities are supposed to feel like.

Vendors are consistent each week in variety and location in their layout so you can plan your visit if you do not want to or don't have time to wander. Our favorites are Soulsmith Kombucha, Jenn Eclairs (MUST try the brownies), Great American Bread Company (the CHALLAH), the spring roll lady (you'll find her), and the lemonade! Check it out! The produce is from a locally, family-run farm in Stafford, VA, and they have 30 acres, as well as lease about 400 acres in King George, VA. The elderly woman who runs this farm stand is such a sweetheart, and she has a great sense of humor. We love getting the sweet corn here as they are naturally sweet, juicy, and just quite lovely with whatever grill-out you plan to have. they also have cantaloupes, watermelon, squash, zucchini, and other fresh produce available. I could not stop eating them, seriously so good. Wanted to make a salad once I got home, but ended up eating an entire box. They are a must! I bought some flower arrangements for my house and it's so cool you can actually see where they grow the flowers. The field is literally beside the barn and you can see the beautiful tall sunflowers growing in the distance! I have never actually seen where my flowers are coming from. The owners gave me some sunflower leaves and I got to feed the goats, did I mention they love sunflower leaves. They were gobbling it up! They also sell organic range free eggs, such beautiful colors. Best omelette I've made, such fresh eggs really makes a difference. I can't stress it enough, those little tomatoes were ammmaaazing. Real flavors fresh from the farm ,I was able to meet and talk to the actual farmers and ask where my food was really coming from. Not something you can do in a big chain grocery store. They offer a free hayride to a pick your own field of pumpkins (including white pumpkins and ghords). Bring a cooler because the market is stocked with all sorts of farm fresh meats including chicken and beef. They also sell jams, coffee (roasted in Orange County), fruit, vegetables, milk and ice cream. I saw several people pull in specifically for gallons of ice cream. We enjoyed some farm fresh ice cream after going through the corn maze. They also have a small playground for kids and a large sand pile with dump trucks.
