Ann, Tracy, and team, at Madison Vein and Laser, are just fabulous!…read more I recently got engaged, and one of the first things i thought about for my big day was feeling confident about my skin. I had 10+ years of bad acne scars and have always felt very insecure about my skin (I am that person that never leaves the house without makeup on). In just a few visits with Ann, i am already wearing substantially less foundation and people are telling my skin looks smoother. She came up with a plan, for my individual needs, that includes a series of both chemical peels and broadband light treatments. They are intimidating procedures and can be uncomfortable at times, but Ann will help you through it and make sure you have the most positive outcome at your appointments. Additionally, i have been working with her on creating a makeup and product plan for continuing and maintaining my skin after treatments. She is a wealth of knowledge, and a great resources! I would highly recommend Madison Vein and Laser to anyone looking to improve the appearance of their skin. They make me feel welcome for every appointment and i trust them. I feel substantially more cared for here than i did going through the hospital system dermatology clinics in the past.

My nails are pretty thin naturally and I wanted something that would give them strength and support without destroying them. So glad I started getting dipped!

After having my nails dipped for three years and being a regular at another salon, I thought I…read morewould try something closer to home. Waunakee is an upscale community and I expected an upscale experience but received the exact opposite. I was welcomed into the salon as the first customer of the day. I had arranged for a dip manicure and a pedicure but they were unable to accommodate them at the same time so I had a dip mani in the morning and a pedicure in the afternoon. I'll start with the dip manicure. The lack of color choices for dip should have been my first clue they don't do them often. There was only a handful of choices for color but they did offer to put a shellac color over the top. This is quite unusual. I've had hundreds of dip manicures from salons across the country and I've never had shellac over the top of a dip. Isn't that counter intuitive? My manicurist was Sandy and while she was nice, however the conversation going on in the salon was off putting. The owner, Marlo and another manicurist were treating some regulars and the conversation was not what I would have expected in an upscale establishment. They were talking about "tits" and "squirting breast milk" in a garbage at a concert. Now I understand if you are speaking with people you are comfortable with but you must be mindful of other customers in your establishment. I went for a relaxing experience and this fell quite short. Back to my manicure, Sandy put a clear top coat of Shellac over my dip nails and told me this was their policy. The Shellac did not dry properly and was "wrinkled" on the top when Sandy finished which caused her to have to redo two of my nails. I left the salon to return that afternoon for a pedicure. The minute I got outside in the daylight, I noticed that 6 of my ten fingers looked terrible. I can honestly say this was the worst dip I've ever experienced. My husband actual suggested I go back to my normal salon and have them fixed but I waited since I would be returning that afternoon for a pedicure. On my return, I was the only guest in the salon. I pointed out my horrible manicure and Sandy did agree to redo them. She blamed it again on the bad Shellac but honestly the dip wasn't even filed smooth. The pedicure was average at best. Sandy did a LOT of talking. The chairs were very basic and the foot basin was something I could have purchased at Target. The really concerning part of this whole experience was when I took my dip off. It lasted 10 days (typically last three weeks for me) and my thumb nail was FULL of a fungal infection under the nail. I have NEVER in all my years of getting acrylic, shellac and dip, had a fungal infection. EVER. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this salon and will be sharing my experience with others.
