Cute little B&B about 30 seconds away from San Marco. It's convenient by vaparetto as the San Marco Vallaresso stop is really close by.
It's highly rated on TripAdvisor, was within my budget, and really close to San Marco. Because it's incredibly confusing to get around the island, it's helpful to be near a landmark as signs will point you to those places and you can then walk to your hotel/B&B from there.
We had room 3, which is away from the other rooms and opens right out into the street. It's a smaller street, so there wasn't much noise to deal with. The water pressure in the shower was great, and the room was really spacious. There isn't any fridge or microwave, as they restrict food in the rooms to prevent ants/roaches.
There is a daily breakfast around 8:30am, but it's nothing special. According to some local law, they have to be packaged food items. Perhaps it's to limit food waste? That means it's just croissants, crackers, and toast. They also serve juice from a carton, so it's not fresh-squeezed or anything fancy. Their coffee is from a machine similar to a Keurig, and even the black coffee tastes like there is some chocolate in there.
When booking, they'll have you call when you arrive at the airport or train station, as it takes about 10 minutes for them to get to the place to let you in. We tried 3 public phones at the train station, but they didn't work so we just made sure we arrived during breakfast to guarantee someone will open the door.
The wifi is ok if you're in the public spaces, like the dining area or the hallways. It was pretty weak in our room but we were the farthest away from the other rooms, so perhaps it's fine for the other guests.
It's a great cheap place if you're just wanting to sleep, and plan to spend the whole day out and walking around. There are two elderly gentlemen there, one who only speaks Italian and another that speaks some English. read more
