Great service, friendly staff, and wonderful location. Got a room for $100 USD a night. It was perfect location as it close to the major tourist areas in San Marco. Everyone been helpful and nice. The breakfast in the morning is delicious, tasty and a nice variety. A lot of prosciutto, pastries, yogurt, toast, cheeses, and fruits. When first arrived the room looked old and worn, but after your first night they take off the bed spread and it look so much better and cleaner. Bed spread helps for theme but looks ehh. They also give you all new bathroom toiletries every day but wierd part is they take away your old ones even if not fully used. Like the bar of soap. Would definitely stay here again

Welllll, first of all I booked a hotel called Palazzo La Scalia and spend over an hour looking for it which mind you in Venice everything is on foot or the nearest drop off water taxi. No uber to taxi no cars. The walk ways are very very narrow but you have to check out my YouTube to get more on travels tips. Back to the hotel. Now you actual Check in at this hotel. They had my reservation no problem and they do take a copy of your passport never leave at the desk. The hotel is several buildings down and again very narrow small rooms as you should expect in all of Europe. The room was ok. Very dated the tv was on the Side Wall vs in front of the bed so you had to look to the side if you cared to watch. The bed was very hard and the covers smelled musty and old. My bath towels had stains on them, the shower water was luke warm at best, but the place was clean decent closet space a safe in the room and hardwood floors. There is breakfast in the am which for 15 euros I wouldn't suggest and there is no where to get drinks or food without going outside of your hotel. There is a small dorm frig so bring with you .. if you are on a budget and don't want to do a hostel this is the ticket. It's not bad just not great.

Outside on the balcony. You can see the canal nearby.

Walking distance from everything you want in Venice. They gave us a free bottle of Bellini when we checked in. Great breakfast buffet right on the water, that was included with our room for being Marriott elite members. This has to be one of the nicest best hotels in Venice. The only somewhat downside is that because this is such a nice hotel, room service and the food options at the hotel are completely overpriced. But that's the case almost everything in Venice from what we saw. If there was some more reasonable food and beverage options at this hotel i would have given it 5 stars

Coffee and a welcome bottle of Prosecco were also waiting for us. The view is really, truly right on the canal. It's fantastic but surprisingly quiet at night, likely due to the excellent windows We took the water taxi to the San Marco Square then walked back and it was about a 30 minute walk with beautiful shops and restaurants almost the entire way. Final note, the breakfast was a very good value with a diverse selection and excellent coffee. We recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

Fortunately, we were lucky enough to stay just after they had reopened after their remodel. We did not realize when we booked our vacation that we would be in Venice at the same time as the Venice film festival. The hotel was clearly fully occupied with people attending the event, but you would not notice a difference at all in the service. Highly recommend breakfast at the upper restaurant overlooking the water and the beautiful scenery and architecture. We were pleasantly surprised that the hotel manager reached out on a number of occasions in an attempt to personally introduce himself to us. We ultimately did meet Francesco and he was so genuine and personal in his eagerness to make sure that we were having a pleasant stay. At the time I was Starwood Platinum, and I booked a King room with a view of the canal. As we checked in - after the train ride from Milan, the long water Vaporetto ride, and the cold walk from the square - the staff was quite friendly as they informed us ... I had been upgraded to a suite with a terrace on the top floor! Right across the canal from the room was the Basilica, with the Lagoon behind it and Lido off in the distance. The furnature was pure classical period style and the terrace was larger than my next room in Munich. Unfortunately it was February so the Terrace was of little use and some of the hotel facilities were not open. But it was fabulous anyway. Now, my stay may not be typical, not everyone gets upgraded to a $2,500/night hotel room. The location is great - easy walking to just about any part of Venezia. The staff was friendly and helpful. Not sure about wifi and connectivity - when we were in the room we weren't surfing the internet.
