The night of our stay, we ate at the restaurant. The food here isn't exactly Italian. As a matter of fact, it's actually more American. Since it was the last night in Italy, I decided to go all out and splurged on a filet mignon. I was very satisfied with how my steak came out. It was perfectly medium rare as I ordered it. I'm always annoyed by how restaurants mess up on the rarity of the steak. Luckily, Colors did a good job at keeping my annoyance at bay. It was 20 euros well spent :)
We got a room for 4. It was quite spacious with a sink. The common bathroom is at the end of the hallway shared by everyone on the floor. There is only one bathroom per floor, so accessibility is quite limited especially in the morning when everyone is trying to take a shower. The main complaint I have is the bed. Whoever thought to build a shelf that sticks halfway into the bed should be fired. The shelf can't be removed and you can easily bump into it during sleep. Not bad if you don't have an alarm clock.
The service here is extremely friendly. They accommodated our fourth friend who wasn't originally booked without a fuss. On the morning when we were about to leave, the frontdesk staff gave us free pastries despite the fact we didn't purchase complimentary breakfast. She even asked if we wanted coffee. The service here alone would make me want to come back.
In the end, I would still recommend Colors for those in Venice. Just be sure to wear a helmet when you sleep because you will definitely hit that stupid shelf!
