Of note & sort of charming, were a couple of free range beautiful chickens and a gorgeous rooster that make their way through the park periodically. We are new at this and have only stayed at a few places close to home to try to get a handle on the RV life. We have a new Winnebaga Intent and there is a lot to learn. We stayed for a month and were parked across from someone who lives there permanently who had some very cute kittens running around for entertainment. Only 4 miles from a very nice beach community as well as the beach itself! Nice amenities. Very clean. Friendly, helpful staff. Not fancy but pleasant and peaceful. What is not to like?

It was within walking distance of one of my friend's houses, and I somehow thought it was part of the neighborhood. This place may be cleverly disguised, but there is a lot to see and do, and this has one of the best inland walking paths in all of Port Ornage. The Good: Walk it off: Honestly the thing I like the most about Spruce Creek is the different walking trails. They go around the park, and even continue over the water, and everything is just beautiful. I used to come here all the time with friends and it was a cool spot to hang out. And if you're going on a mid-afternoon stroll with someone special, you really can't go wrong with this place. The trail is about 3 miles long, but even so, it feels very short. Nice and quiet: Aside from the occasional field trip, this place is almost never crowded. This could, of course, be due to the fact that this place is huge, and even when there are a lot of people you just don't notice them. Spend the day: While there's not really a whole lot to *do* per se, there are picnic tables and playground equipment. If you are trying to spend a nice relaxing day out, Spruce creek is the perfect place The Bad: N/A Spruce creek is a very peaceful and tranquil place to go visit, away from the noise of Daytona Beach. You get to bring your own food and drinks. They also have a concession area where you can just your own food and drinks. At the state park, they have a concession booth and a restroom as well. I have seen a hand full of people trying to walk back while in the water but it is a work out! They have showers, restrooms and even a concession stand! You can even camp there and they have trails to walk through. The beginning of the spring is probably the deepest at -about 3ft and the rest is about 2 feet tall if that! There is also a kiddie pool area that is part of the spring. It was only $5 to get in for 2 people in one car and bring cash! It is a nature park and you do see wild life!! The office gave us a list of available sites and let us choose one. When we needed to extend our stay another week they were very accommodating and again let us choose from the empty sites. Campground is mostly permanent residences and snow birds. Beautiful pool area and tiki bar. Sites could be better marked with numbers and on a few hookups are on two sides of the camper making it difficult unless you have long hoses. Picnic tables are in poor shape. Free WiFi. Overall this wasn't a pleasure campout for us, just a place to stay and sleep. We will visit again

It's wet but what can you do. Bathrooms are clean and sites are very shaded. Right now a lot of cleaning and grading of roads going on but not an inconvenience. Only issue I have is they have a boil water as of now and I wish they would have warned the people ahead of time so we could have filled our tank off before arrival,. Other than that I'm happy to be here and they made it through another bad storm.

The original site we were given was so sunken that we weren't able to open up the steps for our camper near the patio. Eventually we were moved to another site that was sunken but tolerable. We've never had this issue before, The second thing was the location of the sewer. It was pushed so far back. We needed to purchase an extension. Additionally, we have a toy hauler so when we we opened the door, we were basically hovering over it. The grounds did have a pool, very clean rest rooms and laundry. I didn't like that the laundry room didn't have detergent vending machines or a coin machine. It was inconvenient. In the end, the grounds were sufficient for us since we were just there at night to sleep. We were off with family during the day.

The grounds are constantly saturated. Trees are dead , termite infested and root rotten. The stagnant water is causing mold and the waters always under boil water notice . Emails and complains go un answered and the electric goes out every time it rains . Lovely water views w/docks. Some permanents, who keep their space nice and tidy. There is a nice breakfast spot right at the main entrance. Just a short drive (north) to New Smyrna Beach. Our new favourite spot ++++++, we'll be back.
