After visiting three other antique stores in Cadiz on Labor Day, we had the most luck here. Consignment World sells antiques, more modern items, new and handmade items. Individuals rent their own booth space and can fill them with whatever merchandise they want. Store is quite large; primarily clothing in the front and housewares, home decor, toys, artwork, collectibles and furniture in the back half of the store. I spent about $40 on several things---mostly vintage/modern items that will make great gifts this upcoming holiday season. I even scored a great deal on macrame cord. We were here for at least an hour and could have stayed longer---didn't even make it to the clothing area. Vendors set their own prices and I found them to be really reasonable. Super friendly staff. I visited a lot of antique stores and cute shops in the Eddyville/Cadiz/Paducah areas, but this one is by far my favorite. Robin and her husband, David, own the business. The shop is located just adjacent to their own home. When you arrive you're actually pulling into their large driveway. The outside of the shop is expertly decorated, so I knew we'd be in for a treat. Everything about this place is just cute, even it's size. It is a small shop, but five of us managed to be in there at the same time. They sell everything from vintage items and antiques to newer/modern items, jewelry, tchotchkes, trinkets, wind chimes, souvenirs, homemade jams, salsas, woodworking crafts and they can even personalize signs, coasters, etc. So cool! This would be my #1 place to find gifts if I lived in the area. They have an eye for cool things and the store is laid out beautifully. There is something to look at in every corner--they've maximized their small space, that's for sure! I love how they throw in seasonal touches--right now they have some adorable fall merchandise. Checkout the handmade wooden Candy Corn. Robin and David are extremely talented people. They do sell some of what's in their shop on Etsy. The prices in the shop are very reasonable, though. I left with a dreamcatcher, necklace and a jar of homemade salsa for $20. So wish we had found this place earlier. Eye-catching signage located off the interstate, at the end of the road the shop is located on, and at the end of the owner's driveway. Look for the 'open' sign at the end of the driveway to indicate whether or not they're open for the day. You can't miss it. They sell gift cards, too. The owners are originally from Iowa, so that makes me love this shop that much more. Will make at least an annual trip to The Running Rooster. Highly recommend.

Everything from genuine antiques to more modern/upcycled items. They also sell a small selection of Amish canned goods. Vendors who rent the booth spaces set their own prices and prices are negotiable. There were bargains to be found. Employees can get in touch with the vendor(s) if you want to make an offer on something. Pretty cool! We're still in COVID times and this store wasn't enforcing mask wearing. Employees were not wearing masks, but 99% of customers were.

I am SO glad we went! The 4 of us were there for hours. Any questions we had were answered professionally and we were urged to ask for help at any point in our visit. I will most definitely be back! When checking out today I was drenched in sweat, and the cashier mentioned how nice out it is and I agreed but said it's a little warm inside, and she just started arguing with me telling me that it's not hot in there at all (it was easily over 95° in the building, especially in the back where there is no air flow) another coworker seemed to try to deescalate the situation and explain that they're just use to it being even hotter in there, and I agreed with her because this was nothing to fight over. Visited The Purple Pig for the first time on Labor Day…read more As far as antique stores in downtown Cadiz are concerned, this one was my favorite. The store is all one-level, clean, big, open with lots of lighting. Antique stores can be dark and dingy, but not here. Vendors rent booth space and it appeared that most of the booths were well-maintained and nicely stocked. I loved the Pyrex booth. We spent about 45 minutes here. I carried around a couple of things I liked, but ultimately decided to put them back. I didn't need them and and surprisingly found something similar at the consignment shop up the street for less $ anyway. Friendly ladies working. Gossipy, but friendly. Masks were not required here and the ladies working weren't wearing them. Most of the customers were, so that was nice to see. Recommend.
