We stopped in after getting of the Barcelona tourist bus blue line near Parc Guell. They had a menu del día for €14.95 that included beer, wine, gaseosas and water. Our waiter was very nice, spoke English for us poor turistas.
We had the gazpacho and melon con jamón for first course (it was 96 degrees f outside! Of course we had the cool stuff!) and it was delish! The jamón was perfect! I had the pulpo con patatas and it was very fresh. Very tasty and not rubbery. Second course we had chicken fingers and fried potatoes for the 12 year old and the butifarra which turns out to be a VERY yummy sausage with fava beans in garlic. Everything was cooked perfectly, was seasoned perfectly and we ate it all, no crumbs! It also came with a basket of freshly baked baguette that rivals any I've had in Paris. (Suck it, Paris)
This is an undiscovered classic. They also have tapas and a nicely stocked bar. Small inside, but you can make reservations. It seemed like mostly locals. Great place! read more
