This place is hard to find. The street is only about three buildings in length. But, it is oh so worth the find. They have over 200 beers, most in the bottle. When I was there only European beers, no US brews. Bar staff knows their stuff and give good recommendations. read more

This tiny bar is located in the alley between Spuistraat and the Singel. It looks small from the outside because it's small on the inside. Enough said about that. Theres a nice bar you can sit at and sample as many beers as you can handle keeping in mind that some, though very very tasty, are very high in alcohol content. So like four beers is a lot. Well, surely for me. There's a very nice selection of beers to choose from including some belgian beers and listings of bunches of other beers on the walls and above the bar. Should you be lucky you'll find a place to sit at the bar. Otherwise, there's standing room or more tables and chairs above where you can drink your fill. Since it's a small area rather than feeling cramped it gives you a nice cozy feel. While I was there there was plenty of traffic going out and in showing that it's a very popular place to come for a beer or four and hang out for a spell. read more

This place is not hard to find, Google maps is your friend. This is one of the original Belgian (and now craft too) beer bars in Amsterdam. It's small, it's cramped, it doesn't have much food...but it's packed with charm. There are only a few cheap tasteless pilsners and lagers on the menu, and the music is barely ausible, so if you're not hardcore about your beer, this is not the place for you. read more
