Apparently over the last few years, cafe culture has sprung up all over the place, and Costa presented a nice alternative to Starbucks. There's nothing here that was too remarkable, Costa is cut from the same cloth as Caribou, Starbucks, et al., but they did provide fast hot drinkable coffee to allay my jet-lag aggravated caffeine withdrawal. I think I stopped in here every day I was in London. If you need decent a decent cup of coffee, I suggest you do the same.

But a friend pulled me in a while back and I've been here a few times since. The iced coffee is my favourite in the area - seriously, they make an iced vanilla coffee taste like a milkshake. The hot coffee is pretty good, too, but I haven't had it as often. The staff is incredibly friendly and, as mentioned, knowledgeable about their coffee. They didnt have the right syrup on hand to make a hot vanilla latte this morning but refused to compromise the taste by using a flavoured powder (used in iced coffees), which I liked to hear. I've taken a number of friend here and will definitely continue to do so.

However I…read morehave to say am I the only person who is pissed off with coming into a coffee shop midweek and seeing 99% of seating area taken up with either students sat on laptops who you know probably have got in there 1 minutes after it opened and will sit in there until closing using the electricity and the free wifi or stuck up tossers holding business meetings and making anyone just coming in for a coffee feel awkward and that your intruding if dare ask if the empty seat on there table is free. You do excellent coffee but get some more seats or bar people who are just using your seating area for business meetings or who are writing there dissertations and will sit there for hours and nurse a single coffee for hours. However, nothing was so bad or egregious that I would never return. In fact, I would gladly come back for a hot cup of coffee and a waffle stuffed with bananas and Nutella (so good). When we inquired about it, the lady was apologetic and immediately corrected the issue. The food and coffee were really good. We had multiple cups of black and specialty coffee along with a few waffle sandwiches, smoothies, and one açaí bowl. The coffees were very tasty and the smoothies were as well. The waffle sandwiches were my favorite. No matter what flavor you get, it's all good. The açaí bowl was delicious but overly runny. If you get it, make sure to add some add-one like granola and fruit to soak up some of the juice. However, if you like your açaí bowls runny then I guess enjoy the juiciness (yuck). As far as food and drink goes, they have a ton of options, and with their cashless, digital ordering system you can customize virtually anything. The restaurant is your oyster. The establishment is dog friendly and has a cup of coffee campaign for the homeless. When you order, you can choose to add cups of coffee to your order for the homeless. They will distribute them with a handwritten card from you. That's a fairly cool thing. However, one point of criticism. A cashless coffee shop aiming to help homeless, renders any homeless person's attempt to buy a cup of coffee with cash worthless; possibly an area to improve. GC doesn't have much, but what it does have is solid. (3 tables) 3. Light food options. Cakes and the usual bits...but great fresh sandwiches. Order early, once they're out, they're out. 4. WIFI. Gloriously free and strong wifi. They have it. 5. Friendly staff: check. 6. Beautiful ceramics: Robin's egg blue china? Don't mind if I do. 7. Swirly milk foam art: check. 8. A cute bulldog puppy. The bakery has a nice classic look and they have nice looking breads and baked goodies. This branch in Fulham has nice staff and interiors and their baked goods are also very nice. We took away dessert from here and the chocolate cookie was delicious. The other stuff we picked up here was also quite nice. Happily come here again for bread and baked goods.

I looked around, no one, so I bought it, grabbed it, it was mine ! A chain ? Like I said, I'm new in town, this was my first encounter with a Gails ever...and...well, I mean, if all the chains were like this... People around me looked delighted in front of their breakfast/lunch, and service was amazingly polite. The croissant turned out to be as expected, deliciozo. I went back to buy a bread, and something tells me I might be back soon to sit down and give myself a sweet treat ! #easilysold
