The place seems super friendly and the staff were chatting away to all the regulars that were dotted around the cafe during my visit. I ordered my latte and took a seat at the very cutely decorated tables with music themed bits laid out that give a creative feel to the space. This is a shop that fits in perfectly with the well designed and independent venues that line the streets of Moseley. Every time I visit I remember just how much I like the whole area! Even though I was doing a bit of running around yesterday this place made me feel instantly relaxed! One last thing that needs a mention.....anywhere that plays Diana Ross during a visit is an instant winner in my book!

I can now answer myself a resounding Yes. So... Cafephilia. Located on the corner of Woodbridge Road (Junction of Alcester Road - the main road in Moseley) is easy to spot as you come into the area from the City Centre. With it's high class American Diner exterior, I really didn't know what to expect from my first visit and eagerly awaited a chance to visit. A day in Moseley provided me with a good excuse to pop down and give it a go. I had arranged to meet Yelp Elite Squad member Mohamade in Moseley for Lunch. Unfortunately (or fortunately maybe?) the particular venue we had originally chosen wasn't opening until 4pm, so I suggested Cafephilia as a replacement venue. As soon as I walked in I knew we had made the right choice. With it's sleek industrial design and pop art prints on the wall, this place is the definition of cool. Before my lunch partner had turned up, I decided to grab a drink. After being a bit "coffeed out" in the morning, I thought a nice refreshing peppermint tea would make a great accompaniment to a hot day. I wasn't wrong! I popped up to the counter and was greeted by a big smile and a welcome before my order was taken. Once everything was settled, I popped back down and waited for my tea to be served. The teapot was super cute. Mismatched in just the right way, the slightly kitsch presentation very much reflected the aesthetic that this venue is obviously trying to create. Once Mr M had arrived we ordered a couple of panini's as a light lunch option to go with our drinks. A panini here is NOT a light lunch option. Think of a thick, freshly baked delicious focaccia loaded with stacks of spicy and delicious jerk chicken and you have "The Woodbridge". Coming in at just under £4, it was a total bargain for such a huge and tasty lunch. Between the great service, the delicious food and the vast (and not too pricey) drinks options; Cafephilia is a hit. I might have just found a regular office space when I end up this side of town in future.

I've only ever popped in here a couple of times for a coffee on the go, and with a sign out front declaring 'proper coffee' available it gives you hope for a good brew. Sadly I was left disappointed. I'm not sure if the guy who served me is normally the cook or whether they were shorthanded but my Vanilla Latte was just meh. I can honestly say i don't think i've ever been asked how much vanilla before and do I also want sugar. Having said this the coffee itself was tasty, it was just the vanilla part of the latte that was a fail. Although i haven't eaten here they seem to do a good range for veggies and the food is generally cheap to eat here. Whilst they do have places to sit outside as well as inside, it's small size and busy lunch queues does make it feel too crushed for a relaxing bite to eat. Worth trying if you need something on the go but unless you are passing through or work over the St. Paul's, Jewellery Quarter area it's a bit out of the way to make a point in visiting.

If you're in need of a breakfast, they make a great sausage and egg (the egg is always really runny!) sandwich. I tend to go here for lunch as they offer a great salad box. In the fridge counter, you'll find a selection of exciting salad options which include vegetable cous cous, potato salad, chopped apples and other tasty choices. The only downfall of this place is that the salad box comes to around £4.70 which is too expensive for me to go here everyday. It's a nice treat though!

The coffee's here are priced at what you would expect to pay for a decent cup in the city centre (around £2.40) and you can tell the products they are using are of a good quality. I was happy to be asked if I wanted skimmed or soya milk upon ordering, this was a nice touch from the very pleasant barista I met during my visit. Sadly, I was behaving so didn't take advantage of the MANY cakes and good looking pastries that Yumm has on offer. A quick scan over the hot food menu also left me instantly planning my next visit!

Its easy on the wallet whilst being really good, freshly prepared food. Although I would say the potato wedges they offer are just frozen ones you can get from the super market and it's the little things like that that let it down. Having expanded the business from a smaller space at they now also offer catering and venue hire too. If you are down that way for a meeting or to check out the shops its a good place to eat.

I think it's pretty difficult to get personality into spaces with a wide open front that open onto a mall or walk way but it can be done as wit places like Bills in the Bullring. The designs on the walls and in the cafe feel a little bit canteen here for me and the space feels a little bit cold overall. I had a pretty good chai latte but it was not the hottest it could have been which again just slightly let it down for me. The place was quite busy when I went in which could explain them rushing the drinks but I have only been once so have to judge it on the experience I had that day.Paying over £3.00 for a lukewarm drink is just not ideal. I will be back to try again and hopefully i'll have a much better experience to report :)

The coffee here is good, creamy, but very sharp. I've asked them to make sure their decaf supplies are kept high (they ran out, apparently there was a sea of rabid Yelpers draining their supplies yesterday). 8oz is a little small, the large measures are well worth the premium price tag. I'm in Millennium Point almost every day so if there's more, I'll update again...

It was a hot wrap and mushroom has been freshly fried. The ingredients tasted fresh and not over powering. Great balance with a hint of sweet chilli sauce and some sort of mayonnaise too! The pricing here is also great! I paid £3.50 for my wrap and it sure was filling! If your looking for a quick lunch fix this in the jewellery quarter I recommend this place!

Morning coffee part II…read more I must have walked past this place 1000 times and thought it was closed down...today I found out why! It is simply not open on weekends, and is not on my short walk to work! I went in this morning and was quickly welcomed by the owner, he was chatty and polite making me my coffee while I had a look around. I have to say the coffee was average, but how friendly the staff are makes up for that. If you want some friendly chat and a warm welcome to start your day, this place is worth a try.

It was unhurried, relaxed and very enjoyable to be able to sit and relax and eat your meal without feeling that you had to hurry up and leave the table. I would definitely eat there again.

Having sat outside, however, i would say that it is better to sit inside if you want a conversation, as it is quite close to the main road between Solihull and Warwick and there are a lot of noisy lorries etc trundling past. I have been 3 times and would recommend the salads, which from what i can recall are largely vegetarian. I have also tried the cakes, which are good too. The prices arent the cheapest in Knowle but it is good to go for something a bit different from the standard chain. Finally, they allow small dogs in the front area of the cafe, not that I have one, but, if you do, that's probably a bonus.
