We picked up two packets of shortbread and a spicy sweet potato hand pie thing, which we devoured most of on the walk back to our place. We finished the rest of it alongside some other snacks acquired from the Co-op for a very pleasant dinner. It was affordable and the items were well-made.

This business is operated out of the artist's beautiful home. She has a studio where she displays her work (pillows, blankets, etc) and the loom she uses to weave these. She also runs a cafe from her home. When we arrived she showed us how the loom works, and my brothers both ordered coffees (and were pleased that she brought out two french presses instead of the instant coffee they'd been getting everywhere else in Scotland). I ended up buying a pillow from her and my brother got a blanket. If you bought something similar in the states the pricing would be very comparable. We stuck around and chatted with Maggie (owner and operator) for awhile. It's a little off the beaten path, we were the only ones there at the time. It was a great stop and I'm really glad we dropped by.

One bite and I knew they were abnormally good, when I went back inside the cozy interior to take photos I noticed all the awards and plaques they have along the back wall. This is an odd gauge but both days there was a large amount of French and Italian tourists eating here and my stereotype is they are super picky about bread and pastries so I knew it was good. There was a constant line of people but they were quick in grabbing and heating the pastries and making coffee. Our favorite was the bacon and cheese turnover. Had it both days and delicious both times with a nice crunchy and flaky crust and quality bacon and cheese used. We did not repeat the sausage pasty because it tasted under seasoned. They have a "spicy chicken" turnover that had sugar added to the hot sauce to soften the heat, I would call it very mild so don't be scared to order it if you can't eat spicy. This may not be appealing but both days the bags they gave use the pastries in immediately started showing oil stains from the butter they used. The portion sizes are great so I didn't feel too stuffed after eating one of these for breakfast.
