Not knowing Sutherland at all but needing breakfast, I drove around until I found a sort of main street. Then I looked for the busiest café, which was actually White Horse Coffee, however there wasn't much in the way of seating available. Across the road was Café Fix which had plenty of tables and room to spread out and get my laptop cranking. I had a large flat white which was nice and hot but not burnt, as well as two huge pieces of Turkish toast with honey. The toast came out straight away and was hot - another bonus. The staff were friendly and professional, I didn't have to hear about their weekend or boyfriend problems. The menu was quite extensive and the smell of sizzling eggs and bacon was great. Plenty of room to get my laptop out and get some work done, however the only downside was that I sat at a booth table on a straight backed timber bench which was somewhat hard to deal with so early in the morning. Terrible food, bad coffee. With so much competition in Sutherland, this is probably the worst cafe there unless you are elderly and like a silce of orange with your sandwich triangles. I'm surprised that they aren't trying to compete with all the other gormet hipster cafes around. Food was dry, tasteless and unappealing but the seating area provides good privacy if you want somewhere to sit and work for a few hours. Very cold in winter though so take a blanket. read more

My husband , son, daughter inlaw, grandson and myself went for breakfast this morning. The coffee was okay but the breakfasts left a lot to be desired. My grandsons pancakes were very doughy. My son and his wife (The lot breakfast) the eggs were burnt and had to ask for them to be replaced. My eggs benedict which I love and only shout myself a couple of times a year were terrible the eggs were over cooked the bacon was really dry the hash brown was burnt and there was only about 1 spoon of sauce on 1 egg. Very disappointing , would not think about returning any time soon. read more
