Not knowing Sutherland at all but needing breakfast, I drove around until I found a sort of main street. Then I looked for the busiest café, which was actually White Horse Coffee, however there wasn't much in the way of seating available. Across the road was Café Fix which had plenty of tables and room to spread out and get my laptop cranking.
I had a large flat white which was nice and hot but not burnt, as well as two huge pieces of Turkish toast with honey. The toast came out straight away and was hot - another bonus.
The staff were friendly and professional, I didn't have to hear about their weekend or boyfriend problems. The menu was quite extensive and the smell of sizzling eggs and bacon was great.
Plenty of room to get my laptop out and get some work done, however the only downside was that I sat at a booth table on a straight backed timber bench which was somewhat hard to deal with so early in the morning. Slumping must be allowed before the first coffee of the day. read more
