Lots of seating available both inside and outside.  Lots of free street parking (but 1P which is never sufficient when it comes to cafes).  I found the menu quite different as it had two types of burgers, a croque-monsieur, a lamb shoulder moroccan salad, chia pudding, some interesting pancakes, and a chickpea dish. None of these dishes had eggs in them. On the very left hand side, they had eggs on toast, the big breakfast, and smashed avo toast.  My friend and I decided to get the lamb shoulder moroccan salad which was shredded tender lamb (looked like pulled lamb, very fine and long strands), dotted with pomegranate seeds and submerged in sheep's yoghurt. It was nice but felt like it needed to be eaten with some bread, or pita bread. It seemed more of a side dish rather than breakfast/lunch or main dish so quite disappointing.  The roast chicken burger with 4 thin slices of chorizo, some jalapenos and some mayo was slightly larger than a slider and quite bland. I only liked the brioche bun but the filling was ok. My friend who was starving didn't eat all of her food.  The coffee was very weak and my friend did not like her white hot chocolate.  Service was ok. Split bills taken. They do ubereats for most of their menu items (brunch on ubereats - wow). Average food.

We were advised that there is a new menu offered here now and that the chef has over 15 years experience overall and has been in Australia 6 years. The corn fritters were with smoked salmon and poached eggs. They're lovely fluffy fritters with great flavour including a fascinating hint of spice. Ditto the gorgeous baked eggs. These are the best I've ever had. The previous best were those at Jerry Joy in Thornbury but these topped those to my astonishment. They are rich and substantive again with delicate hints of spice. And, whoever decided to add the slice of lemon is a visionary too. The acidity is just beautiful with the dish. We finished with coffee and red velvet cake. Both were wonderful again. The coffees were expertly made, a real Melbourne coffee. The cake was excellent too. Lovely, tasty and moist. The perfect finish. This was an unexpectedly great meal. We loved the place, the food and the service. The world's most stunning woman and I commented to each other that this was a pretty much the near perfect brunch. Put Servery and Spoon in the inner suburbs and they'd be fighting off customers and have lines around the block. It was that good. Finally, I'm conscious that I'm giving another 5. This is another case of not having the capacity to give a half mark. A 4.5 would have been optimal, but a 4 far too low. In those circumstances, there's no option but to choose the higher mark. The top 40 pop songs being played WAH-AY too loudly. Like, I love Calvin Harris... but not with my smashed avo. But maybe I am just showing my age? I have heard a lot about the hotcakes from Maddox but decided to take the (slightly) healthier option of salmon, avocado and house-made ricotta on whole grain bread. It was outSTANDINGLY presented. We also ordered a Bloody Mary (the hunt continues for Melbourne's best Bloody Mary) and as it was placed in front of us, the server said "this is the first Bloody Mary I've ever made".
