Not only was…read moreit a quaint little establishment, but the service was good, the food better, and just overall a great experience. Don't forget to try the gras hoppers, yes they are on the menu and quite good. The drinks were good, especially the margaritas. Everything comes with a generous portion of aguacate and the frijoles were amazing. The salsas were delicious but unfortunately not spicy, although others might think differently. Gotta try this place if you are staying in the Coyoacán.

I walked to the tranquil downtown Coyoacan area and saw La Casa de los Tacos was open, so porque no? The girls were so nice. And they were open with a few diners inside. It was kind of empty and chill, but the ambiance was festive and exciting due to the music and activities going on in el parque nearby. I was so hungry I wanted to eat everything, so I got the tacos con chapulines (HELLA FIRE) and a side plate of arroz con platanos. I also ordered a beer, but that never came out. Their salsas are hella good. Especially that insane truffle one, who knew! It was SO good. The pan fried platanos were so delicious and the perfect little craving I needed for a sweet treat afterwards. They accept cash and card, and make sure you tip you extranjero/turista!

Somewhere in the middle of this vast city, we arrived at Coyoacán. It's like an oasis in the middle of the desert. Ave María sits alongside a beautiful park area with other restaurants. It has a lovely outdoor seating area in front of the restaurant. The service was exceptional, and the variety of food prepared was unbelievable. The hostess walked us through the inside, then around the outdoor buffet area, and back to the front. We chose to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful weather which allowed us to watch the people wandering through the park. Any and everything you could imagine from true Méxican cuisine, they had on the buffet. Trust me, the authentic Méxican cuisine is nothing like Tex-Mex, it's immeasurably different and satisfying. Some of my favorites were the "Caldo de Camarón," enormous and delicious tamales, al pastor tacos shaved directly from the spit when ordered, fresh fruits, and freshly squeezed juices. If you ever find yourself in México City make sure you see your way here. You won't be disappointed, I promise.

The food was mediocre, definitely not worth the price.

Honestly it's not that expensive and the Italian sausage here is imported from Italy itself. The employees here are very friendly and are great people over all. The owner of this place seems like he's very proud of this place and I could see why. The lettuce and strawberries here are grown here and everything is fresh. I wish I could come here often but I live in California but I'll come here every chance I get. This place deserves more recognition and is a great place overall. Please spread the word of this place!

We don't drink so most of the other places lining the strip seemed like loud drinking establishments. The menu listed Salmon and so we being salmon junkies took to it. It was fabulous... not medium but ever so slightly under cooked as it, and pasta should be. The salad was wonderful as they hydroponically grow their own lettuce on site. We were greeted by a wonderful man named Aldo who was the proud owner and incredibly engaging. His people were from Italy and their is a story to be heard if you ask him about his grandfather renting his home to Trotsky while he was in exile in Coyoacon. A little out of the way, use Google maps if needed, to find it! Well worth the effort... Also try the Tiramisu, it was light, fluffy and not too sweet!
