Stopped in for drinks and appetizers and it did not disappoint. Whimsically decorated and in the heart of Coyoacan, we were pleasantly surprised by the food quality and choices. We sat in the courtyard which was perfect for our party of 5. We ordered Queso Fondido which was sprinkled with meat and sausage and served with fresh tortillas. We also ordered Bone Marrow with chapulines (fried crickets), served with tortillas. Fun to try, personally if the chapulines were finely chopped I would have enjoyed it a bit more... but those crunchy little critters were whole. All goes to the same place, I know... there's just something about it that made me shiver a bit. This was a perfect spot to grab some food, drinks, and share some stories before heading out to explore the rest of the town. It was not busy yet so the service could have been better. I'm certain the waiter would have sold us another round and lunch, but instead we decided to head out and grab some cocktails at another restaurant nearby.

Stopped by in Laca Laca for a quick drink and a bite. This is a busy little spot in Jardin Centenario area with a lovely rooftop overlooking the main square of the neighborhood. Food was so so and then drink nothing to brag about but the view and the rooftop and atmosphere was great. Service was good as well. I would rate this as a average place, nice to pop in and enjoy the view over the main square of the busy neighborhood of Coyoacan.

Fantastic restaurant in the center of Coyoacán. The mocaljete is probably the best I've had in the city and the guacamole con chapulines is phenomenal. The dining areas are quite open and it can get pretty loud on a busy weekend, tending to lend itself more to larger groups of people.

We stumbled upon this place. I like to take credit for suggesting it but my posse will claim other wise. Anyways to the good stuff. This place was the bomb punto com. The food was so delicious. We ordered several different dishes. Check my pics for what we ate. Everything will be delicious whatever you order. The atmosphere is what I also loved. An outdoor style hit sheltered from the elements. Their are two trees growing inside. The calaca theme is not overly played out just a hint not gaudy. Enjoy

Excellent place for drinks! The mezcal margarita is very good. Shots are poured at the table and come with sangrita shot. Complimentary veggies were refreshing. Staff was all very nice. I did not try the food. But where's bad food in Mexico??? Absolutely beautiful place.

This is a busy place on the weekend and service is kind of slow and a little rude at times. It has a live mariachi band and it may get kind of noise be ready. Drinks are ok stick to the beers if you want to play it safe.

The atmosphere and architecture were great but I didn't get a chance to try the food. We tried but the food never came out. The beers were cold and the alcohol selection was vast but the server didn't come over unless you tracked them down to take your order. I absolutely love this places look but the service needs a lot of work.

I stopped by since the ceiling was screaming to me, so walked in and wow so pretty! Very unique scenery! I got the Torta Cochinita (Dirty Torta, 85 MXD) and enjoyed, it was sweet, and dressed with flavoring (it reminded me of a sloppy joe) and the lemonade (39 MXD) was amazing! It was with mineral water and freshly squeezed/sweetened! Recommend! The service wasn't the greatest (hence 4 stars) compared to other restaurants I've been to in the City! If you're in the Coyoacan area, I definitely recommend this spot, it'll be too hard to forget :)

    Molcajete

Excelente!!!! Highly recommended! Every single thing I tried it was delicious, even the crickets lol! The mezcalitas were awesome (mango was my favorite) we also tried the sopes, bone marrow with crickets, and the molcajete. The service was outstanding as well! We got a table on the very top level and it was nice, but next time I would love to seat on the first level where all the beautiful trees are. Can't wait to go back!

Don't forget to try the gras hoppers, yes they are on the menu and quite good. The drinks were good, especially the margaritas. I walked to the tranquil downtown Coyoacan area and saw La Casa de los Tacos was open, so porque no? The girls were so nice. And they were open with a few diners inside. It was kind of empty and chill, but the ambiance was festive and exciting due to the music and activities going on in el parque nearby. I was so hungry I wanted to eat everything, so I got the tacos con chapulines (HELLA FIRE) and a side plate of arroz con platanos. I also ordered a beer, but that never came out. Their salsas are hella good. Especially that insane truffle one, who knew! It was SO good. The pan fried platanos were so delicious and the perfect little craving I needed for a sweet treat afterwards. They accept cash and card, and make sure you tip you extranjero/turista!

Big plus - they have English menu and the portions are extremely big and probably enough for two people to share. Each meal comes with the soup, rice or pasta, and the main course. The service is truly friendly and the two buss boys are exceptional. I've never seen anyone working so hard, but at the same time remain so friendly and enthusiastic as those guys. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone who is visiting. To be honest, I have not had the cold drinks, so I cannot comment on those only because I had bad experience in the past in Mexico in general NOT at this place specific. Just be careful, do not drink anything for which you cannot confirm the source of the water including vegetables like lettuce and tomatoes because they might of been washed with the regular tap water. Due to the lack of Spanish, I was unable to confirm what water they use for those purposes and therefore I can't comment on quality of those drinks and their salads. Overall, I will come back again and again. This place is simply amazing.

I ordered the Huevos Mexicanos, which translates to "Mexican eggs." It's basically scrambled eggs mixed with salsa, served with a side of black beans and a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice. Although very simple, the flavor was very delicious (I think they use some meat juices for cooking or something). I also ordered a cup of black coffee. If you are a coffee drinker, do yourself a favor and get it every time in Mexico. I normally don't drink coffee black, but I guess that's because I've been drinking the wrong coffee. :P The coffee was very smooth and smelled strongly of cinnamon. Delicious! We were offered free bread and tortillas with our meal. I didn't eat the tortillas because I was full, but the bread was that perfect, pillowy soft kind with a flaky shell. The bill was very affordable at around $6 per person. Gotta love the exchange rate!
