Situated between the numerous charity shops that make up George Street, this little Italian cafe is a real hidden gem.
The owner and all the staff are Italian, giving the place a proper feeling of authenticity. They are all super friendly and chatty, especially if you make the effort to mutter a few words in Italian as my boyfriend likes to do!
They have the usual selection of hot drinks, freshly baked cakes and Italian treats such as panetonne and pandoro. The hot food is a little limited but what they do, they do extremely well. I would highly recommend the tortillas - warmed and served with a side salad, and the paninis are pretty good too.
They are children and dog friendly, the whole upper floor is especially for kids with a selection of books and toys available to keep them occupied while mums and dads sip their lattes uninterrupted. I think it is they family vibe that gives this place such a nice feeling, it's almost like spending a few hours in Mamma's casa in Napoli! read more
