The food is good quality and the portion sizes are reasonable. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Restrooms in the basement. And a small kids area inside with a wooden rocking horse. Nice to have access to when sitting out on a hot day waiting for your child to tire themselves out at the playground but just a tad too expensive to seriously consider as a restaurant to go to for a meal. All of the beverages are at least 4 chf or higher as are most of the plastic wrapped bakery items.

Based on all the fancy packaging our expectations were high. Fortunately we went with the smallest package which was still 5 euro. Bottom line, this thing looks pretty but is inedible. It is nothing like the waffle cookies in Holland. It really might have only passed for a dog cookie. I brought it all the way back to the states and nobody could eat it...not even the dog. That's what happened to me when I found Café Neumärt on a cold November morning after skipping past the green siren people. I was warmly welcomed at the counter and offered to choose any seat in the restaurant. Not long after, a coffee with milk arrived and it was delicious. There are newspapers to read but I stuck with the news on my phone and worked out where I was headed next after I was appropriately awake from coffee.
