We ordered plenty of food between the two of us with an order of fish and chips, fried spam, fried scampi, fried mushrooms (you can see a theme here). The food came out fresh and fast and the best part is the beach is like a minute walk so we enjoyed our food by the beach, watching the sunset. The food itself was great. The cod was flakey and the batter stayed on the fish. The chips were perfectly soggy and crisp (not usually a good thing but always works for fish and chips). Fried mushrooms, awesome, fried scampi, awesome. My favorite actually ended up being the fried spam, they had a nice thick piece and it was melt in your mouth salty/umami goodness. Spam lovers and doubters should both try this and see what they think! This was definitely one of the highlights of my short Whitstable trip, esp since everything else was closed or closing. However, Ossies with their later close time and proximity to the beach saved the day!

The batter was a deep golden colour, and honestly, I've had lighter, airy-er batter. However the fish inside was moist and flakey and tasty. The chips were chunky, golden with the right mix of crispy and soft. I did think that it was a tad expensive, at first, but that was before seeing a battered cod the size of my face! Customer service was a bit mediocre. Smiles, pleases and thank yous really do help. If you go on a Sunday the menu states you HAVE to have 2 courses, I only wanted 1 but then you still have to pay £30. The female member of staff who served us really didnt want to be there. Like she was hungover or is treated badly by management. Food was oversalted, not tasty and small portions. The other 2 guests we were with were also underwhelmed by the food. The trout starter came with a blue oil that was tasteless, and very unappealing to look at. We spent £150 . Overpriced. Underwhelmed and very unewell.
