Perfect texture, not too sweet...oh my.. We ordered coconut bread at several other places in other towns, but not one of them measured up to the one from here. I wish I hadn't already eaten, because the sandwiches they had just made looked amazing. A must try when in Óbidos.

On the way north we stopped here, at this pretty new Continente, to stock up on groceries. Water,…read moremilk, soda, beer, wine, some cheese and ham, bread and household products. We got everything we looked for. Quality and price were - as usual in Continente - very fair. The store is very well organised, clean and has friendly staff. Lots of parking lots outside. There's also a "Bagga" coffee shop, where you can get cheap and good coffees and snacks.

Nazare is renown worldwide for its incredibly huge waves some as high as 100' Surfers from all over the world come here between October to March. The Guinness book of world records is a wave 86' high by a German surfer Sebastian Steudtner. We went there in late April w/expectations of the huge waves only to realize that the water was almost flat w/no wave activity while we were there. Nazare has a large beach community w/Restaurants & shops along the beachfront strip. The most famous viewpoint is the red lighthouse. There is a fee of 2 euros to view the waves from the platform
