After an extensive morning of sightseeing we stopped in here for a quick lunch. We had a great table for people watching and the weather was perfect. We went with the Croque Monsieur, French Onion Soup, and my daughter had a bagel with smoked salmon. It was lovely to enjoy a great glass of French wine and our lunches were good and filled us up so we continue touring. There seems to be many locations for this particular French café throughout Paris but this location was super close to the Arc De Triomphe. The café decor was pretty and looked very Parisian. Typical Paris cafe fare/ambiance here. As usual, the place to dine is on one of the outdoor tables so you can people watch, etc. I keep doing this to myself by ordering steak frites, knowing full well that the meat will be tough based on the relatively cheap price. The wife's onion soup was delicious, however. The staff here was friendly and spoke English relatively well. read more

We ate breakfast a couple of times here while in Paris, and it was a really lovely experience each time. Is it touristy? Probably, but I didn't care. It ticked all the boxes for me-yummy food, very good service, and a cute, just-what-you-dream-A-Parisian-cafe looks like type vibe. It filled my all things French loving heart with joy. The decor is in an art deco style, with colorful, teal upholstered chairs and plush benches with sparkly chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. It was pretty, and I bet it would have been even more so at night. The servers were very friendly and were kind enough to accommodate my need to speak English. We were seated promptly each of our three visits. This was a great compromise place for us to eat. My partner would be fine starting the day with breakfast at a boulangerie and having a baguette or a chocolate croissant (or two) for breakfast. But my need to avoid gluten and dairy make that a less than ideal option for me, sadly. My partner ordered the "Good Morning" breakfast, which includes baguette, butter, jam, coffee, and orange juice. He was happy with it and noted that the baguette was quite good, crispy on the outside, softer on the inside just like the French like it. I had the complete breakfast, which includes coffee, orange juice, tartine or pastry, eggs, bacon, and roasted potatoes. It was simple but so good. I just love that the French know how to cook eggs, and this meal was no exception. Over the course of my entire trip to France, I never had an overcooked, brown looking egg. I absolutely recommend coming here, especially for breakfast, if you are staying near the arc de triomphe. read more

One of the closest restaurants around Arc de Triomphe. It was a nice experience, friendly staff and our order did not take too long on a Friday night around 7. We had the linguine pasta, angus steak and fish dish. I would suggest sitting outside to enjoy the view. read more

Stopped by this cafe, who's menu looked appetizing. They have an assortment of nice coffees and home made desserts. I speak a bit of French and the waiter laughed at me and continued in English with my family. My husband and daughter both ordered iced coffees. They came hot. Two other American ladies came in and the same waiter and the staff in back made jokes of Americans like 'they're all movie stars.' What a jerk. So, it wasn't me and poor French. Next two families came at different times each with 5. The staff seemed to try hard to ignore them rather than seat them. Both cases the Moms walked in and were persistent. Our desserts ranged from an ok chocolate mousse to a terrific apple Carmel puff pastry a la mode and a won't have again Nutella crepe. Unless you're seeking the stereotypical rude French waiter, I'd not recommend this place for families, parties over 2, or tourists, which is a shame considering its close proximity to l'arc de triomphe. Meh. This is one of those times I wished I looked at Yelp reviews before I decided on this place. My friends and I happened to walk into Cafe de Paris simply because of it's proximity to the Arc de Triomphe and the fact that we were super hungry. What a terrible decision. Service was poor, food took forever and a day to come out and when the food did arrival, it was "OK" at best. We ordered a couple plates to share (escargot, poached eggs, etc) as well as main entrees. The restaurant was not busy by any means and everything took far too long to arrive. We probably waited a good 30-40 minutes before our actual entrees came out. I ordered the scallops with vegetables while my husband had their steak. My scallops w/ veggies were incredibly bland which was sad because they looked vibrant and delicious af on the plate. The steak seemed a bit overcooked and pretty tough to eat. We wanted to conclude our meal with some coffee but was nervous that the coffee orders would tack on another 30 minutes so we left and headed to a coffee shop instead. Overall we spent maybe around an hour or an hour and 15 at this restaurant and the majority of it was waiting for the food to arrive. Avoid if you're on a time crunch. Avoid if you're not ready to wait 30 minutes for your meal. Avoid if you're not into tourist traps. Just do yourself a favor and avoid Cafe de Paris Friedland overall. read more

Was skeptical about stopping here due to the location and reviews I saw. But I had just gotten out of the navette for the Fondation Vuitton and they let you off right across the street. Due to the location I knew there would be a premium, but it was cold outside. Ordered croque monsieur which was ok (not bread from Poilâne). We had a reservation for 8 pm. Got there a few minutes early and was greeted promptly and offered a choice of inside or the patio. Sat on the patio right along Rue de Bac with a great view. Our waitress was wonderful, perfect combination of attentiveness without rushing us, very friendly. Food was fantastic! We started with the spring rolls, then I had the sea bass and my daughter had chicken picatta. All were delicious. Very close to Arc and our hotel. Everything was fine, the food, our waiter and service was all perfectly fine. My SO ordered the entre' du jour and it was a meat pie OMG it was SOOOO tasty! I opted for the Filet and Bearnaise.. My only mistake was ordering my steak medium rare in France. I should've said medium. Then it would've come out more medium rare .. as they cook more rare in France. I knew that I just forgot. no complaints here. read more

We wandered into this cafe after exploring the arc de triomphe. I was skeptical when reading the reviews on what we would get, however, I was not disappointed. The food was great! I had the pizza with a limonade, which was very good. We also had escargot and the taste was exceptional. Avoid this place if at all possible! I only gave one star because our waitress was actually very nice; however, this was not enough to offset the extremely rude behavior of the hostess. All of the people we had met so far in France have been gracious and welcoming. This young lady was not. Because our waitress was occupied, I reached for one paper serviette (in the storage bins next to our table) to wipe the hands of my children. The hostess came up to me and rudely told me "this is not your house" "can you ask?" "Do you speak?" This is after we paid for lunch for a family of four. My advice is not to eat here...
