The wait was too long at some other restaurants, so we stumbled upon Le Wilson. Was it the best food? No. The worst? No. Everything was ok. It wasn't crowded so we were seated right away. And it was quiet. Started with the snails. They were good, but be prepared that they come out incredibly hot. I didn't expect it, so that was quite a surprise. Bread was pretty hard, but managed to dip some in the leftover garlic butter. Had been craving steak and frites, but I would choose something else if I got a do over. The steak was really tough. One of my thoughts is never go back to revisit a restaurant because it is never as good as the first time. We forgot this and revisited Le Wilson and did not regret it because we went back for lunch the next day. Fantastic friendly service. They try to accommodate you even if they are very busy. I ordered my usual Steak Tartare with the question from the server of 'you know it is no cook?' Would be a shame if they did cook it as it is one of the best I have ever tasted and so fresh. My partners steak went down very well. The wine was perfect. All from there Plat du Jour menu and a very reasonable price taking into account the restaurant position. Where do I start? My kids and I were famished. This restaurant happens to be the first one we took time to review the menu after visiting the Eiffel Tower on a very cold night. My little girl decided this place will do. WRONG!! Below are what we ordered and I'll briefly explain: 1. Steak with fries (15 Euros) - The price is pretty decent for a touristy location. The steak was hard as a rock and although it was ordered medium well, it was brought to us rarely cooked. Arghhh! Disgusting.... 2. Roasted chicken with mashed potatoes (16 Euros). Oh God... I'm not a good cook, but the chicken is much worse that the rotisserie chicken you get at Costco (the entire chicken for $5!). The mashed? Nothing special. However, because the chicken was so bad - I finished the mashed. 3. Pasta carbonara from kid's menu (13 Euros). The serving was pretty good considering it's a kids menu. It come with an entree, a drink and a dessert of your choice of either a pudding or ice cream. The carbonara is dry, but way better than the other ones we ordered. Service: We were greeted by the owner as soon as we came in the door. We were seated and given a menu. After that, everything changed. My boyfriend had the Escargot and the Duck Confit while I ordered just a French Onion Soup. As I cannot eat escargot, I had just asked him his thoughts on it. He's had it before, so he was able to judge it decently, In this case, he said that it was not flavored well. I was able to eat the Duck Confit with him and we both agreed that it was pretty good! I could've ate a whole plate to myself. I also really enjoyed the French Onion Soup - it was rather hot, but really enjoyable on a cloudy evening. Very unfortunate experience here. Friendly staff but the food was really not very good. I hate to leave bad reviews but this one was just so bad across the board. My wife Ordered the mash potatoes with her chicken. They tasted rotten. The chicken was very average. Over cooked and dry. But that's not out of the ordinary unfortunately. What we did not expect was the mash potatoes to be so awful. They took them back and then replaced with some spaghetti. Just the noodles. No sauce. Same dry chicken on the side. Very odd choice. The kids meal is pretty bad too although I was a fan of the chicken nuggets. I ordered the onion soup, which was maybe slightly below average. It was fine. No real issues other than a little bland. My real issue came with the creme brûlée. It was absolutely terrible. Just a gross flavor and texture. Sad as it was the last night in town. For the price, this place is really bad. This was a wonderful restaurant. Right across from the train station and a wonderful view of Trocadéro. We walked maybe 3 minutes to take beautiful pictures of the Eiffel Tower. The food was delicious. Service was great. They have inside and outside available. Definitely would return. We had the Cesar XXL which was plenty to share for 2 people. Couldn't give this place a better review! I walked into this establishment, which is conveniently located near the Eiffel Tower, looking like a lost little pup dog tourist - backpack and all. I was greeted by a very friendly General Manager who simply asked if I was going to be dining in with them this evening, and if I wanted an English menu. Yes and yes, please. I was seated at a small table near an electrical outlet so I could charge my phone, and was approached almost immediately by my server. I simply told him I'd like to try his favorite french dish that they serve and a glass of whatever wine they recommend to go with it. He came back with a delicious red wine, duck confit, crusty bread (duh), and some icewater. Everything was fantastic - best duck I've ever had, in fact. After the main course, I cozied up to a nice dish of Creme Brulee and asked for the check. Surprisingly inexpensive for what I received (service, food, wine, dessert, tip). If I'm ever back in Paris, I'll be sure to stop in here again for more of that duck! Thank you :) read more

1 star is still too much. This is an Asian comment. The manager gave us the rudest service ever! I see another reply to a comment that the waiter was a temporary, this is full of BS because it's an ongoing thing no matter how recent. There's only one manager, other waiters were fine and dandy. Just the manager, the top guy over there, stared at my guests rudely while handing out the menu, gave the creepiest and gawkiest French humor. Who cares in this day and age. It's awful and he thought he's cool. The place was very CRAMP too. Well, we are Asians, and have small stomachs. Then after we requested multiple times and sincerely to go sharing because of our smaller appetites, the manager commented that we can go to McDonalds to go share our food. (we were well-dressed and well-mannered) I don't bother if this is a French etiquette or his own personal mannerism or whatever. You don't deserve anyone's patronage. France is opening its door to tourists from all over the world and globally people have various limitations. It's a modern and globalized world, stop insisting to be superior. This place was right down from our hotel and within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower and right accross from a subway entrance. It is really small and trendy it seems. They always seem to have a crowd no matter the weather. One day when we passed during lunchtime, we saw they had some seats open inside. We stopped in and so glad we did. I had a great quiche de fromage and some coffee. Their coffee was to die for. I wish I could get coffee like this in the US, but no can do. Our waiter was very tentative and on point. Seemed racist as he would treat other (whiter) customers with much better tableside manner than we were afforded. Nobody came to take our order for 20 minutes or more until we flagged a waiter down. He came by and silently took our order with neither a smile nor acknowledgement. No water was offered the whole time we sat until we finally got the chance to ask. And when he came by with it, he plopped the pitcher of water down on the table roughly and was gone in a flash. Keep in mind, the restaurant was not even very busy at the time. The rest of our experience here was essentially more of the same treatment. Tried to keep an open mind and remain impartial about the food, but overall was subpar to average at best. Would not come back. Would not recommend. Would not pull the waiter out of a burning carfire. 1.5-2 out of 10. We're on vacation...ain't nobody got time for this. read more

This restaurant is across the street from the Eiffel Tower. The service was excellent. Our waiter was very friendly, funny, helpful with the menu, and even was interactive with my toddler. Food was great. I ordered beef tartare which was the best I have ever had. The mussels appetizer was fantastic, and the desserts were too. My wife was happy with her steak and my other child was happy with her fish and chips. Would I eat here again, yes. Just arrived in Paris today from London for the start of my vacation. Went to this restaurant for dinner. The service was not good at all. The waiters sat us at a table and took about 20 minutes to take our food orders. Our drink orders were not taken until after we flagged another waiter down. The food over all was very very bland and tasted unseasoned. I ordered the special which came with eggs and mayonnaise, steak and fries as well as a desert(choice of caramel, ice cream or yogurt). I ordered a yogurt for desert thinking it would be a nice yogurt parfait with fruit in it. They gave me a little pack of yoplait plain vanilla yogurt. I did not travel from the US to have such a sup par service and dining experience. Would not go back or recommend. read more

That is great !!! We need it to use the bathroom and that is the reason we came to the restaurant, bathrooms are clean. Now back to the Eiffel Tower to continue out day. There is wifi too!!!
