Les Marmottes is kind of small so it's hard to get a table without a reservation. That being said, last night we called around 22H30 and they were able to accommodate us at 23H30. We had fifteen people in our group. The waitresses were extremely friendly and helpful, (they always are,) and made our experience a positive one. Our waitress was doing the best she could given the restaurant was packed, there were only 2 servers handling all front-of-house duties, and the kitchen was so unreliable. They need more servers!! I'm trying to understand how this could happen given the good reviews. I bet the head chef recently quit and took people with him, and the management is just trying to keep the restaurant going. And it's a great location, they can still make money. But it won't last long like this...

The salade lyonnaise was incredible, with lardons and a perfectly cooked egg. The mustard dressing was excellent. The boeuf bourguignon was very tender, almost as good as my mother's. The saucisson crouté was excellent with a sauce I can't describe because it was so unique. The calabaza-topped potatoes were tasty. The soup a l'oignon was very good as well, excellent with the good bread they provided. All in all, a great experience. We were very grateful that they admitted us at such a late hour (10 o'clock is quite late for these bouchons, apparently!), so I must leave 5 stars. Thanks guys!
