    Cutest cafe!

What a charmer of a space! What this place lacks in quality of coffee and food it makes up for in down-right adorable space and heart-warming service (like majorly). The cappuccino, although ok, I found to be quite bitter and they did burn the almond milk. Generally I won't say much about burnt almond milk (it's an easy mistake for a barista) but I hold the standards up higher for an exclusively vegan place; especially considering they only offer almond or soy milk. In all fairness towards the food I only tried the chausson aux pommes, which, for some reason, they seem to warm up on a panini press. The end result is like a kraft singles and wonderbread grilled cheese that's been sat on but with apple filing instead. Maybe it's just me but chaussons are supposed to be flaky and puffed up, no? Anyways, as you've probably gathered, the space compensates by being adorable. Tucked away from St Denis like some sort of secret garden hobbit hole cafe, I could honestly spend hours in here. The eclectic decor and abundance of homey, woodsy accents instigates something that feels like childhood. Very charming.

Tofu sandwich with vegan cheese and homemade kimchi

I happened on this café on my way to the train station and it looked so cute I came back because it wasn't even open yet. When I returned there were already people inside but not too crowded. There's a steady stream of people coming in to order coffees and pastries. I sat down to have their tofu sandwich with kimchi. I saw the Napa cabbage brining in a large bowl so I know they make their own. It is delicious!! I would come again if I lived in Montreal. The staff is young and friendly and the vibe is chill. Off on a side street means you feel hidden away even though St Denis street is around the corner.

The café is in Plateau and it is a quiet place when I paid a visit there in the morning. The decor of the place is quite rustic and there is a corner that is quite luxurious, the wall covered with purple velvet and a nice sofa. The coffee is quite plain and the service very average, nothing stunning I would say. It is a good place to study or chat with friends, but compared to other chic or cute cafés around the area, Tuyo doesn't have a clear advantage.

It's worth five stars for their vegan chocolate croissant alone, but we tried almost everything else on the menu and it was all magical.

This restaurant offers variety of vegan dishes Asian style. We opted for the boba milk tea, sushi rolls, and shrimp appetizer. The sushi rolls were fresh and delicious. The dragon roll was our favorite. However the star of the show, was the fried shrimp. They were salty and sweet with perfect amount of spice. The milk tea was also equally delicious as the food, however paper boba straws...I could not. And thus made a mess (my fault). Overall, great restaurant to dine alone or with friends. The staff was also super friendly and recommended some options for our brunch. We ordered the coconut curry, mushroom crostini, and shakshuka. I really enjoyed the coconut curry and mushroom crostini. They both had quite a bit of flavour and were beautifully plated. The shakshuka was incredibly bland and miss for me. I did enjoy the way the tofu was done for the crostini and shaksuka though. Would definitely come back here again to try some of the other dishes especially the vegetarian ones which were pretty egg heavy for brunch.

I had the fish tacos which I would get on repeat they were so delicious. The perfect combo of crunch and softness with an amazing slaw. That said - I saw this place and I was real excited. Sushi is not really a vegan thing and if this place could make it work I'd be fully impressed. But...it didn't. Sushi, in my mind, is a delicate dish. Light, but flavorful and fulfilling. What they served here was anything but. Rather than let a few choice ingredients speak, everything was just...busy. Lots of sauces, a riot of packaging and weirdly ubiquitous crispy rice (I think?). TBH one of my favorite rolls is an avocado roll. It's rice, seaweed and avocado. Stupid simple. But done well it's extremely good. Rather than internalize this lesson this place just goes full American with it. California rolls but cruelty free. Wouldn't recommend this for sushi. But a filling vegan meal, sure

I had never been here before and was told the best way to experience Momo was to do the set testing menu. (Something like that). I had the miso soup (fantastic) and the mushroom tartare (one of the best things I have had!). For the main course of sushi, I had a mix of the chef's favorites which was a huge miss for me. There was a crispy rice dish, the Momo roll, and two other rolls. The rolls had a strong turmeric taste along with fresh fruits which made it hard to go down without making a face. Just an odd mix of flavors unfortunately for all of the rolls. I also had the spiced pear for dessert which also had strong spices which was not enjoyable. Overall, I would not recommend the set menu and to do your research on the best rolls prior to going!
