His lineage through Rickson Gracie and the Ribeiro brothers resonated deeply with me since I started my journey under Kron Gracie. Making a move at that level is not easy. You do not change academies unless you are looking for something real. What I found at Evolve was next level coaching. Coach J genuinely cares about his students. Heard there are 300 kids! This place is ran very well by Ma'm Annette and her amazing young instructors which are also DATKD students that are black, brown, and red belts. Kids are definitely learning TKD and most importantly they are having fun. My son has learned so much and he looks forward to coming. His kicks are super strong! He's still learning the discipline part as his maturity catches up. He's almost 7.5 but always wants to goof off with other students and even the instructors. But they and Ma'm are patient and yet firm in reminding the rules. Surprised to see how little yelp reviews but a lot of the parents may not be regular yelpers. Come swing by and watch for yourself how awesome this place is if you're looking for a martial arts club. It's standing room only on days the kids are being tested for their next belt up. Don't let that encourage you in checking this place out as this is actually the best time to feel the amazing energy and excitement from the kids (and parents too), and witness for yourself Ma'm Annette's powerful voice and command!

I've been to several martial arts schools and I find this one fits my needs the best. Shopping for a school can be daunting but know that here you will find the instructors pay close attention to proper technique to avoid injury and deliver efficient strikes, provide ample safety gear, teach with positive reinforcement, and are family friendly. Sparring does not start until the student has learned proper technique for basic self-defense, which reduces risk of injury. We're all working adults and learning students, the last thing we want is a broken nose or sprained ankle. Other schools I've attended had students start sparring after 2 weeks of enrollment and I ended up going home with bruises, unlearned technique, and apprehension to return. It's not like that here. If you're focus is to become a street fighter, this is not the place to be. If you want to become the best version of yourself in mind, body, and spirit, this is the place to go. Martial Arts training is not a sprint, but a marathon and a way of life. The best lessons are learned over time and experience, so trust the long term goal and process. You can be so much more than you think you can and this school made me realize that about myself.

To begin this place has a striking training once a week. I watched in amazement as people punched a punching bag full of recycled rubber tires and sand. It reminded me of a funny cartoon seeing the energy wave transfer back on the striker. I saw attempts at kickboxing by instructors that obviously had no Muay Thai or Kickboxing experience. Now onto the reason why I came to this place, the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The BJJ training did not meet my expectations of a professional BJJ training academy. The business owner seemed distracted by his cell phone or negativity most of the time. The were small but there seemed to be a high count of injuries, including the owner who may not spar, due to having had his arm broken doing BJJ. Good, lively and intelligent students were routinely knocked down a peg, or brow beat, so to speak, when they were doing well. This seemed to serve no efficient purpose as these were not belligerent or lazy students. It seems counterproductive. this is not a tough love, it's like Pinnochio being trained by the going nowhere boys. There seemed to be an air of insecurity in the owner and staff. The women that courageously came to the place once, probably never came back for a reason. Most people that attend BJJ classes are not broken people and do not want or need that. We want proper professional training which is a fair trade for payments. So in my opinion go find a dojo that meets your expectations. In the martial arts world there are always people looking for a place to belong, a home, a club and those people could be professional trained, not neglected of professional training. This type of training in the short term wastes time. In the long term it will crutch or starve growth. It may not be healthy for youth or adults. Not for me, and maybe not for you. They had a lot of different obstacles set up that help to not only burn off energy for high energy little kids, but also helps them to learn how to better coordinate their body by kicking things the right way, jumping over things, and rolling safely. Class is twice a week and the students collect different colored stickers as they learn new skills. After all stickers have been collected, they get to test to see if they are ready to move up to the next belt color (every 2 months if you regularly attend). It felt like a family environment with even the parent of the different students knowing one another and being friendly in conversation. A great business that I would recommend!

Also an improvement is the adult swim lane. previously there was only adult swim 15 minutes every two hours so that was difficult! Now there is always one lane which I really appreciate! Lifeguards are great, and i'm glad that they tell kids not to run. Kiddie pool was not functional this year due to a leak, and because it needs to be overhauled/rebuilt, it's unclear if it'll be available next year. I think most members love having this pool to go to during the season.

I don't typically write negative reviews, but after spending over $200,000 on our pool, I think…read moreit's important to share our experience for anyone considering Aqua Blue. We selected Aqua Blue because they came highly recommended. They weren't the lowest bidder--in fact, we received less expensive proposals--but we believed we were paying for experience, professionalism, and a well-managed project. That turned out to be an expensive assumption. We were told the project would take about two months. It took closer to seven. Construction delays happen; that's not what this review is about. The real problem was the complete lack of communication and follow-through. We were repeatedly told crews would be onsite, only for no one to appear. Weeks would go by with little progress, and instead of the contractor managing the project, we found ourselves managing the contractor. I also expected far more guidance during the design process. Instead, the answer to most questions was simply, "Whatever you want." While that may sound accommodating, it's not why you hire an experienced pool builder. We wanted professional recommendations based on years of experience. Instead, I often felt like I was serving as both the client and the designer. There were also decisions made without consulting us. Plumbing was rerouted, exposed hoses were added, and other construction choices appeared to be driven by convenience rather than thoughtful design. We even had to push back on the proposed location of the pool equipment because it prioritized permitting convenience over the appearance and functionality of our backyard. Project planning was equally frustrating. We'd routinely receive notice the day before an inspection that we suddenly needed a gate installed, a pathway prepared, or other work completed immediately. None of these requirements were surprises to the contractor--they were simply surprises to us. One discovery after construction was particularly disappointing. During our landscaping project, our contractor uncovered large amounts of hardened concrete buried throughout the yard from the pool construction. Instead of being removed, leftover concrete had simply been left underground. Our landscaper had to spend additional time and labor breaking it up before the hardscape could be completed, adding costs that never should have existed in the first place. Apparently, "cleanup" meant covering it with dirt and hoping no one would notice. The biggest disappointment came after the project was finished. When warranty issues arose, I spent nearly four months following up through texts and repeated promises that someone would come out. No one ever did. Eventually, I hired my pool maintenance company to fix the problems at my own expense. A written warranty has little value if no one honors it. To be fair, the finished pool is beautiful. That is the reason this is a two-star review instead of a one-star review. But a pool builder is being hired for much more than the final product. You're also paying for communication, project management, design expertise, accountability, and service after the check clears. Those were the areas where Aqua Blue consistently fell short. If you're considering Aqua Blue, don't just ask to see completed pools. Ask how often you'll receive updates, how change decisions are documented, how warranty claims are handled, and who will actually follow through once the project is complete. Based on our experience, those answers matter every bit as much as the finished pool.

Yelpers have mentioned the trail to the waterfall starts where Westline Dr. and Skyline Dr. meet. From here it's fairly intuitive on where to go. I felt the trail down to the falls seemed too steep to attempt so I opted out. I'm not sure if it was better a few years ago but when I went it felt dangerous and easy to lose footing. I wouldn't recommend this part for someone hiking alone, with kids, or with inexperienced hikers. The trail continues in the other direction along Westline Avenue with views of the ocean. If you continue you can see the top of the waterfall from here. You have to walk a little off the main trail in the ice plant but it's worth it if you want to see the falls. Another way is you can see this waterfall is by walking from Esplanade Beach. From the top of the stairs there the waterfall is about .6 miles. It's so much easier to get to this way and it's a nice beach walk. From here you can't see the waterfall as clear because there is a lot of debris in the way. In this sense it's almost a better view from above. The waterfall comes out of a storm drain which isn't as nice and only flows after a big rain. I wouldn't come out of my way to see this waterfall. But I think it's worth coming to see if you are already at Esplanade Beach or live in the neighborhood and are walking the trail alongside Westline Dr. From the start point to the beach and back it's about a 3.4 mile hike.
