I had the opportunity to spend a day with him and his son, my close friend, Josh, out in the bay adjacent to the town of Buras not more than a few miles from Captain Friedman's homestead. A former elected government politician in Plaquemines Parish he is also a MASTER fisherman. Two of his claims while I was out with him "A 32lb redfish" and that he "has never caught less than 6 fish". Captain Friedman took me and my friends on a 3 hour fishing trip that I will never forget. I personally caught 2 Red Fish but the boat caught 6 keepers. We enjoyed our room with it's comfy bed and pillows, small sitting room and updated bath with refrigerator. It was lovely to stay in a home built in the 20's with original hardwood flooring. Lots of snacks and coffee plus sodas and juices in the break room made us feel right at home. The huge screened in porch overlooking the MS River is also a comfy place to hang out and relax. Very quiet and our favorite restaurant, Black Velvet, is right next door. We will always stay at Patty's Place on our bi-annual trips to Buras, LA. Thanks for a wonderful vacation, Nichole.

Really great set of cabins near excellent fishing locations in Venice/Buras Louisiana. Most of the…read morecabins are fancy trailers, but they are very clean and perfect for a short or extended stay. The couple that runs the cabins are extremely friendly and will do anything to help. They offer a full meal service if you don't want to worry about buying and cooking food, and serve the most authentic Bayou food you can get.
