From the moment they arrived, every single member of the team demonstrated professionalism, kindness, and genuine compassion. Qualified that truly stood out during such a stressful situation. It's not every day that you encounter a group of individuals who not only perform their duties efficiently but also take the time to show empathy and reassurance. Their calm demeanor and respectful approach made a difficult experience much more manageable for me. I would especially like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Adrian and Keegan, who transported me to the hospital. They went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and cared for, showing an exceptional level of attentiveness, patience, and concern for my well-being. Their support did not go unnoticed, and it meant more to me than words can fully express. Please know that your team's efforts made a lasting impression on me. I am incredibly grateful for the care I received and truly appreciate the dedication and compassion shown during my time of need. Thank you all for the important work you do every day.

So this is the new Resources Building, which officially opened in Fall 2021, when most everyone was still probably trying to stay home or not in-person for work due to the pandemic. The main State agency here is the California Natural Resources Agency. But this building also houses the following 11 agencies that's related to CNRA. Specifically, you'll find: California Energy Commission California Water Commission Delta Stewardship Council Department of Conservation Department of Fish & Wildlife Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) Department of Parks & Recreation Department of Water Resources California Fish and Game Commission Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety Wildlife Conservation Board As for the building itself, first off, this is an ECOFRIENDLY building, and is in fact a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) LEED Platinum Certified Building, which means there are a lot of environmental friendly and conservation design elements and measures thoughtfully put into this building. All the lighting and other resource usage devices and mechanisms have been considered carefully to minimize usage and maximize energy saving. Secondly, there are ART works and California nature themes throughout the building with lots of beautiful photos and digital art pieces of scenes from California's coastline, beaches, forests, mountains, and other natural wonders, some in more realistic representations, and others in more abstract and interpretative modes. There are also several sculptures throughout and surrounding the building, with the Giant Sequoia at the entrance being the most famous and prominent one, made by artist John Grade. Other artists represented include Rachel Sussman, Ishi Glinsky, Michael van Straaten, Angelo Rosales, Chris Jordan, Chris Kallmyer, Danski Tang & Josh Shaffner, Elizabeth Leister, Gabe BC, Heidi Duckler Dance, Jessica Wimbley & Chris Christion, Kevin Cooley, Maru Garcia & Hye Min Cho & Maura Palacios Mejia, RIGER, Sarah Rara, Gioia Fonda, and HYBYCOZO. Overall, this building is pretty impressive, with its mirrored windows exterior skyscaping into the clouds and its interior of natural lights and warm color themes that echo the nature it's trying to convey from the outside. There are many meeting rooms (most do not have public access), one large auditorium, lots of offices (no public access of course besides the public reception counters), and plenty of open spaces throughout to give a feeling of large expanses. This was surely an expensive build, but it is a very nice government building, the most modern and nicest I've visited to date. Finally, I've not tried other eateries in this building, but Buddha Bowls and Rolls is here and they're good. There's also Jesse's Getaway Cafe for a quick breakfast or lunch bite.

It has affordable housing compared to Los Angeles! If you're into snow and love skiing, it only a couple of hours away to enjoy! We have mom and pop's, farm to fork, many cuisines to choose from, popular chains types, bar foodies, food trucks, to Michelin-Starred restaurants!! We have many grocery store options at our fingertips. We have hospitals and clinics. We have many churches and schools. We have quite a bit compared to some very small towns. I think we all take the every day amenities for granted. Overall, it's a beautiful city!! It is not perfect. Nowhere is perfect. Let's count our blessings that we live in a beautiful city with amenities!!

However, I was having lunch in the area last week and realized I have never reviewed it. The highlight of the park for me is the beautiful World Peace Rose Garden, which is especially stunning right now because all of the roses are in bloom. The gardens' central fountain creates a peaceful atmosphere and makes this a wonderful place to relax and walk around or sit and just enjoy the scenery. I almost always have my dog with me and she loves watching all the squirrels in the park and there are so many settings that make for a great photo ops of her. There are also lots of great manicured paths for me to walk with her. Another thing that I love about this park is the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. As the mother of a veteran, I am always very moved by this tribute to those who have served. The statues are incredibly well done and it's a beautiful space for some quiet reflection. Parking can sometimes be hard and expensive, but it's a lovely park where I am rarely bothered, no matter how busy it can get at times. I definitely recommend stopping by if you haven't already and I will continue to return to this park again and again whenever I'm downtown.
