Richard is unprofessional, unresponsive, & avoidant!!!!! He asked for payment upfront. As soon as he cashed the payment he did not answer my calls, didn't acknowledge my voice messages & didn't reply to emails when I requested over & over to provide updates about my claim. He promised to make 5x attempts but only made 2. He never tried the 3 remaining attempts. Richard IGNORED MY calls, EMAILS & VOICE MESSAGES FOR WEEKS. When I finally got a hold of him, it was because I called from a different number, to which he answered IMMEDIATELY. His excuse was "oh sorry I have been busy". Sure, uh huh. Richard you ignored & ghosted me without explanation or update. RICHARD CAUSED ME TO MISS MY HEARING DATE. I wish I would've read these reviews prior to hiring him, he has ghosted customers numerous times. He has scammed many customers. DO NOT TRUST HIM. He will take advantage. I will gladly show receipts & share my horrible experience. I have proof in my call log & emails that show he did not respond for WEEKS. Richard has ignored me for months at this point, he made me miss my hearing date, he never updated me about what was happening with my claim, he kept my original documents, he never refunded me, & he never sent the final Declaration of Due Diligence, which I could've shoewed to the judge at my hearing as proof that I made attempts to serve the defendant. Richard triggered anxious mood in me, feelings of depression & hopelessness due to his lack of professionalism & no responses. I send him all of the anxiety, depression, and ill he caused me! Cal Process Servers solved my problem. They served eBay so that I can sue them in small claims court. The previous server company did not know how to find a corporation. I paid good money to the other people then ended up in court where the judge said I had not properly served eBay. I know when you deal with process servers you're not getting the service you expect. They're flaky and it's hard to trust them. But Richard was the exception for me. He returned my call a couple of hours after I left a message. He was near me and he came right away to meet me. He served the person and called to tell me it was done. It was a Friday and he told me he would send me the paperwork on Monday morning, which he did. It couldn't have been any smoother. I used Cal Process for a service and although there were some hiccups, the mission was accomplished! And after all thats what we want right? The service was a difficult one on two people but Cal Process persevered! You may reach out and not get an immediate response regarding status but this server has very good way of process serving so he gets very focused on his mission to complete the service! Have used them for nearly two decades after meeting the owner in early 2000. Over that time I have had mostly routine service requests, without issue. Unfortunately, a recent situation arose that required multiple trips, literal surveillance, and what is likely described as either avoidance or eluding of service. They called me back and I gave them my billing information. Later that day, I received an e-mail that they had served the person, the time they served them, and additional detail. She was either a ninja or a type of person who knew she was guilty and refused to answer the door to anyone because she knew she was getting served I originally had a sheriff served the court documents. They made 3 attempts and failed. I did decided to try myself with a friend. We made 2 attempts and gave up. This was just too much work and we had better things to do than to stalk an old lady. Better have the professionals do it. Did a lot of researching on craigslist and a lot of people were just charging way too much for the service with no guarantees. This place offered a very competitive rate with 5 attempts. This would have been my final attempt before cancelling my claim. So I gave them a try. Amazing customer service! I highly recommend this company. I have never sued anyone, and Richard just went above and beyond giving me advice on the entire process. We provided description of the people and pictures of the place so he knows which entries to target. After over 3 weeks, this company said they attempted 5 times with no success and then said that if we want him to try it again, we will need to pay again with no promises that he will succeed or change his approach to the serving. By the way he does not have time to stay in front of the defendant's home for even 30 minutes. Well I don't like to pay twice for a service I didn't get and am not likely to receive. So I contacted a different company which serves this client with no time. I called Cal Process and asked for a refund but they were rude and yelled at me before hanging up on me. Had to serve my landlords, since they decided that they would not give us our security deposits back. It is already a stressful situation since we live in Sacramento, and they live in either Glendale or La Niguel (they like to use multiple addresses to throw people off I guess). Tried one address, and it of course was completely vacant. Found another address, and Richard got the job done. The landlord did not answer the door (or wasn't there), so he served one of her family members. He's also extremely knowledgeable in answering whatever questions I had, since this is the first time I have ever had to do this. read more

Very professional company. Richard got the job done and goes beyond the minimum. I too had a stealth person to serve and he professionally accomplished the task and didn't give up after three attempts. The law has a presumption that a process server has done his/her job professionally and they are certified in the state. Much better to rely on Richard Steiber and his company to accomplish the task --- especially given that when matters reach this point, it is a volatile situation. He even had to come to court to testify after the person lied and said she had never seen him before and disputed service to vacate the entry of judgment. Took weeks, upon weeks to serve a 55 year old non-fugitive female at her residence. NEVER, EVER got served, did a mail & nail and then had to follow up to make sure docs were sent to me & court about the attempts log, etc. I had to send docs to court myself just for backup certainty. I hired a friend who "delivered" birthday flowers and got access first attempt. Had to have them fill out court notarized process docs. Would't meet me to help maneuver the "serving".
