It is basically the town of Poltu Quatu and has everything you need here. The premise is private which allows for extra comfort walking around. There is a grand marina attached to the hotel that houses some nicely sized yachts while also being within walking distance to restaurants and shops for spending the evening by the water. The pool is big and well maintained, the shuttle service to nearby beaches are great which run on a schedule and the service is top notch from the moment you check-in until check-out. The rooms are clean and some even have kitchens should you feel the need to cook while on vacation. Come ready to pay and you will surely enjoy yourselves!

The hotel is centrally located right off the ferry. It easily had the largest bathrooms in any Italian hotel I have stayed in (which isn't saying much). It is also very close to a bank and an ATM that works with my American bank cards. I lived in the area a while ago and speak a little Italian (Sardo-Italian), which was plenty to speak to the hotel staff. Nobody seemed English fluent, but everyone on the staff was friendly and communication wasn't a problem (same goes for the whole island). One drawback: the staff are mostly not from the area and work seasonally, so if you ask for advice on the local area or businesses they don't have much in the way of good advice there. The island imports large numbers of seasonal workers in the summer who don't know much about where things are or know much about other businesses in La Madd. I will stay here again.

The price was very reasonable -around 300€ and included breakfast. We were in room 109 overlooking the beach. The bed and pillows were very firm and their were usb power ports on either side of the bed along with small tables which I always appreciate. Furnishings were simple with white tile floors and white interior throughout. The room wasn't overly big but didn't feel cramped. The small bathroom with single sin k still had room for a great rain shower. We also had a large balcony with white wicker table and chairs so could sit outside during a couple of brief rain showers. The main allure here is the beach-just a 2-minute walk down. The hotel also has a large number of beach chairs (many under shady trees) dedicated to guests which is great because I'm certain this beautiful beach gets packed in high season. No pool at this hotel though, just a reflecting pool to add ambiance to the restaurant and bar. Try to sit out there for breakfast. Note: they have 24 parking spaces but they MUST be reserved in advance (did not see this on their website anywhere-20€/day) or else you have to try for paid street parking (enforced 9-midnight) at 1€/hr-we got lucky on street. Suits are very spacious and beautifully decorated. Comfortable large bed, big bathroom. Few steps to the beach, where you can swim or just enjoy the view, sun and the sea breeze. They have swimming pool too, but who wants a swimming pool if there is such a marvelous sea. Kids? Breakfast was included. Buffet with fruits, pastries, etc. Like a continental selection, with no smoked salmon, nor omelets or Champaign. But all they offered was delicious. For dinner we ordered room service from their restaurant and enjoyed it at our terrace - in a company with stray cats who wanted to have a bite too, how lovely! No gym, but they suggest you to use their gym and SPA at their main hotel in the city where you can drive, it's not a walking distance. Or they have a charter boat cruising over there. We didn't go there and had a beautiful jog around the neighborhood. Hotel is open for the summer season only. Very peaceful, quiet and romantic place to stay.

It is still quite a hike. We have to wait for the shuttle or we have to walk. It is very hilly and in the hot sun very tiring to walk up hills each day. The pool is about a 10 minute walk and the beach is a 15 minute walk. Walking down is ok, walking up I wouldn't recommend unless you are incredibly fit. You have to go early in the morning to grab a chair by the pool which is free, you have to pay for an umbrella and chairs on the beach. This is quite ridiculous for the amount of money we paid to stay here. Also, there is no water anywhere to drink. You have to go to the bar and they will only give you a bottle of water to purchase. The only meal that comes with free water is breakfast. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet is really good. They rotate the meal items each day. As far as our room goes we have a beautiful view, but there are ants everywhere! Outside our door, inside our room. We don't keep any food inside either. They are due to all the vegetation. I think the hotel should do something about this especially on our patios. The staff are very friendly but our TV did not work. We requested it to be fixed many times. They fixed it once and then it didn't work again. Also, the room key card is an issue. It only worked the first few days we were here. They gave us a physical key but when we checked in they put the wrong key in our key envelope so the staff had to open our door. So we have been having to use the physical key to get into our room. My husband told the front desk and they said the key card will only work if you don't double lock the front door. That makes no sense because our door was not double locked. The pool is beautiful and salt water with amazing views, but the bottom of the pool has hard stone and you can cut your feet, it is a beautiful location. I came to Sardinia to relax and hiking up to my room from the beach or pool or after dinner is not relaxing to me nor is waiting for shuttles with a baby. It seems like the baby club is great but we didn't use it. They had a show for children on one evening which was nice. The live music at night is also nice. I would not recommend this hotel for the elderly or disabled it is very hard to get around. It is also not stroller friendly to go down to the pool or beach unless you take the shuttle. I hope they make some improvements.

I almost expected a nice weather (sardinia is normally warm for the whole month of september) but it was actually gorgeous: warm, windy and dry. Regarding the resort: starting from the reception i felt welcomed and pampered! The personnel was always ready to assist me for every need and they were constantly smiling! There are two restaurants inside the resort: one of them, near the reception is organized as a buffet, the other one need to be reserved and has a-la-carte service. I didn't have the chance to try the a-la-carte restaurant, because i was enjoying the buffet: there were everyday a full assortments of meats and fish, several kind of pastas, appetizers and desserts. The bread is probably home made, because they have a fantastic oven which is used to bake pizza for the dinner. There are various sport activities (not tried), like the wellness center (not tried), a pool filled with sea water (tried) and the sea is close to the resort (5 minutes walking probably). it was a beautiful experience and now i'm sad because i'm back in London.

The parking lot and hotel location is easily accessible to go in and out of the marina. This is very important because it gets very busy and has a lot of traffic. The bed is very comfortable and made our sleep enjoyable. The accommodation include a small kitchenette, Nespresso, two separate toilets and a large standing shower. There is also a tub as well and they provide you with toothpaste, toothbrush, shaver and shaving cream. The staff is very friendly and can speak English. Special thanks to Laetitia for being so helpful throughout our stay. With her recommendation we visited beautiful beaches and ate at very good restaurants. Don't pass up staying at this modern hotel with luxury amenities. But note that this hotel does not have an elevator. We were with my parents (dad 74 and mom 65) they had no problem walking up and down 3 flights of stairs. It was not an issue for them or for us. I would recommend staying at this hotel if you plan a trip to Bonifacio, Corsica.

The lovingly designed and spacious rooms and facilities (including stunning sea view) made us feel at ease from the first moment. Whichever dish we chose from the menu at lunch or dinner (and we picked a lot of them), the food was consistently outstanding. We also used the SPA and the treatments were top notch. Last but not least, the entire hotel staff created a warm and authentic overall atmosphere that made us feel "at home". In summary we spent a dream holiday at the Don Cesar and will definitely come back again.

We love food and were willing to pay for it as long as it's good. Sadly the food here is in general quite boring and expensive, during our stay we had lunch here once and dinner twice. The first evening we had "the culinary journey" it was supposed to be something extra according to the hotels description. We found the food served mediocre although the fish we had for main was well prepared and the wine served together with the dinner was good. The lunch was not worth the price, dinner the second day was probably best and we can recommend you to try the slow cooked veal and the chocolate fondant. In average the price level is quite high 4eur for a small water, 24eur for a boring pasta during lunch and Kellogg's k special for 6 eur in the mini bar. It gives you the impression your being ripped off and indeed you are... So why did we still choose to eat here, well the place is in the middle of nowhere, in order to get here you drive 6km along a narrow road and thereafter you need to drive around 10 min to bonifacio (beautiful city), it's simply to much of a hassle to leave. Further the wifi is unreliable and the hairdryer is really bad.
