I am always going out for a night on the town without money in my purse, as i tend to switch everything! It can get a bit annoying for my pals, as usually my first words when getting into the taxi are usually 'we need to stop at a cashline!'.
Thankfully on the way up to town there is a handy hole in the wall at Calder services, an Esso garage situated halfway up the hill to Motherwell. As well as selling petrol and diesel (obviously) they have a handy shop which closes at 11pm, but you can still purchase through a little window after the opening hours. Pretty handy if you need a packet of chewing gum or a mars bar at 2am!
The cashline here is convenient, but as with a lot of service station cashpoints it charges you £1.85 to lift your own money, which i always find a total outrage! read more
