I think it's somewhere I shall use…read morefairly frequently from now on because it's very handy for me, being right next to Tesco, and not far from where I live. Because it's not in the middle of town, it's not very busy I've passed it many times and there are never long queues. There's a car wash to one side which I'll try sometime as well. The lady who served me inside the little shop yesterday was very friendly. You can also buy confectionery and newspapers here to save going into Tesco.

I have to applaud the staff of this place for putting up with the crazy clientele they must encounter, as a 24 hour garage, with everyone from steamers to stoners pestering them for munchies in the early hours of the morning. By day, it's a pretty decent little service station, serving fuel and fags, milk and magazines, as well as a whole range of overpriced groceries. There's also a Wild Bean Cafe in here, serving surprisingly good coffee as well as a tasty selection of muffins and pastries to refuel your belly whilst you refuel your motor.

Located on a mini roundabout it is easy to divert into it on the way down to Peacock Cross, and equally easy to get into on the way up Wellhall Road. Comprising Air and Water, Car Vac, two Jet Washes and Automatic Car Wash, Shell is the perfect stopping place for a variety of motoring needs. Inside the shop is well laid out with nicely lit displays and a good variety of items for sale at reasonable prices. Staff are very helpful and friendly, though at times there is only one member of staff on which slows things down.

Hogganfield Loch is situated on the outskirts of Stepps…read more There is a parking area at the entrance for those arriving by foot, with a food van resident in the car park when looking for refreshments or ice creams on hot Summer days. There are two little play park areas to keep little ones interested, and plenty of wildlife to take in. The swans, geese and ducks all congregate on the car park side of the Loch (along with pigeons and seagulls!!) hungry for food from passers by. It can be a bit like a scene from the birds, however, with this hungry gang of birds all vying for the crumbs of bread and scraps. So, I tend to find a quieter spot on the Loch, away from the car park if we want to feed the birds - much more civilised! ;) There is a path all the way round the Loch for walkers, runners, cyclists... The whole Loch takes maybe 20-30 minutes to get round, depending on your walking speed and size of walking companions (longer with 2-3 year olds!) Hogganfield Loch is a nice wee spot if looking for a relatively quick, but refreshing, walk not too far from the city centre!

There is a lot of birds, mainly swans and ducks that people feed. Dog walkers, joggers, cyclists use the park too. In summer there is sometimes boats you can hire.

It sits at the Lanark side of the roundabout in Newmains and is open 24hr it is on average the cheapest or second cheapest for petrol or diesel, and it has a good forecourt shop for those household goods that you have forgotten to get before the shops shut (a lifesaver at times) and unlike the other petrol stations in Newmains free air and water, it also has a cash machine and well kept toilet facilities, and the staff on the whole are friendly and helpful and they are also quick to start the pump when you pull in unlike a lot of garages.

Plenty of pumps fitted into a fairly small, well it forecourt. The station inside is clean and staff are friendly and helpful. There are a good variety of snacks and car related products for sale. Only hassle is trying to drive back out of the station onto a small side road and then onto the busy Low Waters Road.

Also awkward getting back on to busy main road when busy. Only one till position so queues can form but staff always seem helpful and they have a handy little shop.
