I have been going to Dr. Calhoun for two years now. I cannot say enough positive sentiments about her and her staff. They recently added Dr. Michael to their group. He has relieved my piriformis and gluteal pain to the point where I can finally sleep through the night! He truly cares! He goes above and beyond to make sure that you understand the problem and the process and exercises needed to heal. He also adds the services of scraping and cupping. Lisa cracks me up... Da-dum-pshhh! She introduced 2 new therapies to me that I've not seen before. They both helped me recover and feel better faster. Very pleased. I am deeply disturbed by the comments and would ask that Jasmine please contact me at the office, 230-1288. While a patient not responding to a particular adjustment technique occasionally happens, the most disturbing part of the review is the implication that we would be trying to " rip off or cheat" patients. This is absolutely not the way we do business and if this is the impression she got I would like to personally review her information and get to the bottom of the misunderstanding. My office has consistently been named Best in Bay, we do it one patient experience at a time providing efficient effective care with a great office experience. I went to Calhoun Chiropractic initially for back and hip pain I had been experiencing for 2 years and no doctors had been able to help. I was desperate for something to help and decided to try acupuncture. I am probably one of the biggest "doubting Thomases" around, but Dr. Palay is wonderful! After about 4 visits I was pain free and have been for several months. The other benefits of Dr Palay's acupuncture treatments have been amazing. A couple days before my trip to Pcb I fell on my back from about 5' off the ground onto concrete. Rushed to the hospital for X-rays, they said nothing is broken. I could barely walk but wanted to go on this trip. As long as I was driving I was ok, getting in and out of the car was very painful. After 12 hours of driving we finally made it and when I got out of the car realized that I couldn't move very well. I couldn't walk, sit, lay down without excruciating pain around my sacrum and mid back. I have a great chiro back at home and was nervous to go to someone new. After several calls and hearing that I couldn't be seen for several days I thought I'd try one more office, and that was Dr Calhoun's. Chiropractic clinic. I called and explained my situation and they told me to come right in. Once there, Dr Lisa tried to get me to lay down to check me out but I was in so much pain that I couldn't. I really thought she was going to tell me to leave and not much she can do if I can't even lay on the table. Instead she put me in a different room and had one of her staff Sage do ultrasound on me. Amazingly that made me feel good enough for Dr Lisa to do her initial visit. She recommended that I come back later that afternoon again and I did come in for he next four days. Each day feeling slightly better. On Thursday she let me know that the office is closed for the weekends, I was worried because in the pain I was in, every little sign of improvement was huge. Dr Lisa showed so much concern, you can tell she truly cared about me and my pain that she wrote her cell number down and said to call her if I really need her to see me and she would come in just for me. I own my own business and that alone showed her compassion, kindness and that it's just not about the money. I had to sleep on a recliner all week and when I got up Friday I could tell that I was feeling better (not 100%) but better movement. Then sat, I felt even better, again, not 100% but good enough to walk slowly on the pier and lay down on the beach whereas initially there would be no way I could have even thought of it. We drove home yesterday, again, I'm feeling much better, at least 70% better thanks to Dr Lisa. I highly recommend her office, such nice staff, so caring. They even marked their calendar to check on me in 10 days. I hardly take the time to write reviews but I really am so grateful that I want everyone to know how great they treated me and truly helped me. read more

My doctor recommended I try acupuncture to relieve back pain. Made an appointment with Calhoun, didn't get acupuncture but did get a massage that helped. Went back a few weeks later with two appointments, one for a massage, one for what I understood to be the acupuncture I came for. Different therapist and her massage made my neck swell, that afternoon instead of acupuncture they used a spoon holder to bruise my back saying it would relieve the pain. I now hurt worse than ever and having to take pain medication. Hundreds of dollars later and I am worse than I was when I walked in. If they really have acupuncture services they don't like to provide them. Avoid at all costs. read more
