My little guy is on the autism spectrum and has a hard time going to the dentist. During our first visit he was very anxious, but Jordan and Dr. Jeff made him feel at ease. We now visit once a month and he loves to visit the dentist because they make it super fun for him and stress free. My little girl visited today for the first time and she loved it. She said she can't wait to return. Lupita and Dr Chris helped us out and they were so gracious and incredibly welcoming! I highly recommend them. Everyone there is amazing. First, they charge outrageous prices--hundreds out of pocket per kid--even after insurance. We figured we just had mediocre coverage through Delta Dental, until we went to a different pediatric dentist in Roseville with the exact same insurance... and paid nothing. Everything was covered. So what exactly makes Weideman so special? Honestly, it feels like they've found a loophole to charge whatever they want while leaving parents to fight with their insurance company for scraps. And reading through other reviews it is clear that I'm not the first to complain about this. To make things worse, one of their techs tried to charge us twice for a simple X-ray--just because my 4-year-old moved slightly. When I objected, they said they'd remove the charge. Then they argued with me at checkout to try to add it back in. Are you kidding me? He's four. What did they expect--perfect stillness and a signature? For a place that already bills over $600 per kid out of pocket, the idea that a redo X-ray costs extra is laughable. The whole experience felt nickel-and-dimey and exploitative. Save yourself the frustration--we will NEVER be going back.

Check in was quick (you can do check in online or on your phone ahead of time). The receptionists were very sweet and attentive to my daughter. They let her brush the crocodiles teeth while waiting. We got called back promptly and both the dentist and dental hygienist were so sweet. They answered all my questions thoroughly and were both very patient with my daughter who was at first a little nervous and scared. They did a great job making her feel comfortable and we look forward to our next visit.

Although the age appropriate communication from the physician was not great, the girls were happy. It was the last 2 visits that were horrifying from both the Dental Tech and the Doctor himself. We were the last patient of the day, they had called earlier to ask if we could change the time (no, due to work). Once we were there we were rushed, and the girls (5 yo) spoke of it after. My girls sadly required fillings - oops on mom and dad... When I took the first one, wow was I appalled, demeaned, disrespected, and overall taken back with the poor patient-focused care. The doctor was telling my daughter you're not hurt, I'm not even touching you, there is no pain, you need to breathe through your nose. This is not exaggeration; this is word for word call out. The doctor turned to me after failing the procedure to attempt a disrespectful education. The physician needs education on how to speak with children who are experiencing a traumatic event (there is age-appropriate communication techniques for age groups). Do not take your children to this doctor. There are much better options. The only good comment I can give is the RDA that was there to assist with the filling that day was compassionate, kind, and very age-appropriate with my daughter. I have no complaints about that. However, my concern lies with the doctor himself. Over the last 1.5 years, I've noticed a change in Dr. Staveris. Perhaps he's getting older or tired, but he seems to lack patience with his patients, especially pediatric patients aged 5 to 6 years old. As you know, children of this age can't hold still for long periods and may become fussy if a procedure lasts longer than 10-15 minutes. They simply can't stay still for more than 5-7 minutes. About a year ago, I witnessed Dr. Staveris becoming aggressive and raising his voice at my middle child when she was making sounds of discomfort during a procedure and trying to communicate (with her mouth open) that she needed a break due to pain. Today, for the second time, I observed his aggression towards my 5-year-old son, who was struggling to cope with the dental procedure. I was shocked to see Dr. Staveris shouting at my young child when he was trying to express, with his mouth open, that he was in pain after being scratched by a tool and needed a break to rest his mouth And one more thing, Dr. Staveris likes to talk to his assistant during the procedure, discussing personal matters. Instead of focusing on the task at hand and utilizing time efficiently while the tooth is numb, he engages with his assistant. As a result, precious time is wasted, leading to the need for a second shot to numb the tooth because the initial time allotment has expired. These are disappointing factors. Dr. Staveris and his staff are always patient, thorough, kind, and help my children feel safe and not scared. They offer such a fun environment that my kids often choose to join for each others appointments because they enjoy hanging out there. I cannot recommend this dental office enough, absolutely the best dentist in the area for children.
