We had a problem with our radiator in our van. Or so we thought. We took it in there and They fixed it. But it wasn't the radiator that was the problem. Redd's found the main problem and fixed it, plus added in some basic things we needed, like an oil change and wiper fluid. We had a problem with our second vehicle. Well, are you surprised we took itt Redd's too? And it turned out a minor fix. It was under 100.00 when finished. Really? You can't find anything under 100?! But they were. And it was good complete work! They are very informative, very professional, and very down to earth, explaining everything and making sure you have no questions. They fix it right the first time. If you find an immediate problem, go right back and they will take care of it. They are now on my to-go-to list--if, I just need an oil change. They do it all, like a real shop. My Dad was in the business, so I recognize a good place when I see it. If you are not watching, you will miss Redd's garage!! It's just off 'Sheridan gate'(gate 4) on Sheridan and Ozmun. I came to Pat's Auto repair hoping to get my AC fixed. I was told that the problem was one of two…read morepotential issues, my compressor or the expansion valve needed to be replaced. But the mechanic had no way of identifying which problem it was unless they repaired them each. He never gave me the indication or deliberately said "I can fix the expansion valve but I don't have the equipment to fix the compressor." In fact, he referenced to how he could fix both multiple times. Both would be costly so we decided to start with the expansion valve which was the cheaper one to fix. I allowed him to do the repair in good faith that if this wasn't the correct thing that needed to be replaced then at least we'd know what the issue actually was and that he'd also be able to fix the compressor need be. WRONG. He NEVER told me that he didn't have the equipment at his shop in order to repair the compressor. In fact, I'm quite certain that he said he'd be able to do both. I allowed him to fix my expansion valve and SURPRISE, I still have no AC in my car and I'm out $320 bucks. I'm not a spiteful person and I'm very reasonable but as a mechanic you should communicate the capabilities your shop has before deliberately working on people's cars. I left feeling like I was scammed because in no world would I have allowed him to touch my car and pay him for essentially doing nothing. I appreciate the diagnosis but what good is a diagnosis if you can't do anything to repair the problem. And just so I'm clear, yes I do in fact believe that he fully knew he could not replace my compressor and let me run with the idea that he was capable of doing so. At least I have a brand new expansion valve though, right? All in all I do not recommend coming here unless you want your time and money wasted. If I could give 0 stars, I would but here's one for free Gatorade and water to ride home in the heat I guess.
