They left us paying $1300 in fines and penalties! They did not offer to help pay any of it, even though 100% of the mistakes were their fault. Communication and billing practices during my case were troubling -- my trust account balance dropped unexpectedly, and when I raised concerns, Mr. Hattaway withdrew from representation. Afterward, I learned that Mr. Hattaway was publicly disciplined by the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board in 2024 for neglecting a client's case, failing to communicate, and practicing law while ineligible. The Board found that his misconduct caused nearly $90,000 in damages to a client, and it imposed a 60-day suspension (fully deferred).
