We spoke with Johnathan for a while and he presented us with the buyers representation agreement. We were hesitant to sign the agreement. Johnathan down played it and assured us they would cancel it if we decided their realty group was not a fit for us. With Johnathan being previous Military we believed he had integrity and was an honest person so we signed the buyers representation agreement. After having a wonderful, personal, one on one interaction with our realtor in Texas who recently sold our home, we decided Good News Realty was not a good fit for us. We wanted the opportunity to interview different agents in Idaho to possibly represent us in the purchase of our future residence. We sent a request to the Good News Realty Group to cancel our buyer representation agreement with them, just as Jonathan said we could. We were then contacted via text from an unknown number. The text ended up being from the Broker of Good News Realty, Joshua Connell. He sent us a message saying he doesn't let someone cancel a contract without a phone call. We had a conversation with Joshua on the phone and explained our reasons why we wanted to cancel our buyers representation. He spoke to us in a very condescending tone and treated us as if we were lying about our situation. He refused to trust the fact we knew what was in our best interest more than him or any other person in this reality group. He seemed very concerned we might be working with someone else, which we assured him we weren't. His refusal to believe or trust what we were saying definitely fractured any chance of us doing business with them. I explained to him we will never buy any home and/or property using his group. We have sent several more requests to cancel our buyers representation agreement, which have all been denied. We had a phone conversation with realtor Rachael Gerber to ascertain if she could assist us in any way. She went on to lecture us about the problem with people these days not taking contracts seriously. We found this to be interesting since her coworker Jonathan is the one who told us we could cancel the contract. No one from this real estate group has ever shown us the inside of any home. Dealing with Good News Realty group has turned out to be a horrible experience. These people have caused us an overwhelming amount of undue stress just for their own selfish benefit. We are now forced to rent and unable to purchase a home in the entire state of Idaho for one year from the date of the contract, unless we were to let them represent us, because Joshua refuses to let us cancel the buyer's agreement. We explained our situation to several other brokers and realtors in both Idaho and Texas. They all think it's absolutely insane a broker and/or realtor would not cancel the contract with someone who does not want to work with them. They seemed to be nice, honest human beings until we told them we didn't believe their group is a correct fit for us. This real estate group lacks honesty, integrity and a good moral compass. If Joshua had any confidence in his brokerage he would release us from the agreement. He seems to be very greedy and desperate. Joshua, Rachael and Jonathan only seem to truly care about people who are giving them money. They couldn't care less about the negative impact they are having on our lives. It's too bad we made the mistake in believing Jonathan was a man of his word. Please don't make the same mistake we did.
