Isles are well organised and this place is always clean and fresh. Unfortunately anytime I am here during the day to get petrol the service is painfully slow, yet friendly and with a smile. I have never had the EAT or DRINK options here (aptly named) but they don't look that bad. I would probably prefer to actually pick one of their pre-cooked meals or frozen meals from their freezer section though anyway! On The Run is great for petrol but more so for 10pm at night emergencies of the chocolate craving kind.

I mean, the last experience that I had with a supermarket in Adelaide was one that was closing up at 6pm, and I'd arrived just in time to see the doors locked. I mean, seriously? Major supermarket closing at 6pm? In a major suburb? I was pretty incredulous, and after spending eight hours in the car, I was pretty buggered. But I needed stuff, and so ended up spending another half hour looking for a place to shop. That's when I stumbled upon this place. It's a service station, but it appears to be the only place where you can get any shopping done when it gets late. They don't have heaps of stuff, but they've got the essentials. They also have the service station mark up prices, so it's not a good idea to buy everything you need here. It's good to know though, that if I need it, it's there.

There's not much I can say about this petrol station, other than it has exceptional customer…read moreservice. I don't mean the standard level of friendliness you'd expect to experience at any other store; the staff at BP Erindale has some of the nicest people I know. The range of items available in store isn't extensive, but adequately meets your basic needs. The prices are above those of nearby supermarkets, but they do have the occasional special deal (usually on canned drinks or snacks). As part of the On The Run franchise, this service station is open 24 hours a day. As such, it's a convenient place to go when there's nothing else open and you're either suffering from junk food cravings, have run out of milk or bread, or are desperately in need of toiletries and personal care items. When I'm low on petrol, regardless of where I am, I'll do my best to hold off on buying fuel before I reach Erindale. The reason I do this is because it's an absolute pleasure talking to the staff. Even in the early hours of the morning, when people are expectedly at their grumpiest, the employees here are always in high spirits. On many occasions I've had long, meaningful chats with the people behind the counter and they've shared some great stories. I'm equally happy to converse and provide some human interaction, as I can't imagine working the graveyard shift at a petrol station would be overly exciting. If you're lucky and you go while Yogesh is working, stick around and have a chat with him - he's an excellent guy and he'd be thankful for making his day a little more interesting!

To this date I have only run out of fuel once, and most of the time, it is thanks to EZY Fuels on OG road and its locality half way between my place and my parents! Although this is one of my local servos I would travel further if required to get here for two reasons. Firstly it is one of the two cheapest stations in town (the other directly across the road). The second reason is that it is under independent ownership, one of very few around the city. Once in a while there is a story on the local news about the price war between this station and it's rival across the way, and they are consistently the cheapest around...so make sure if you are in the area and need to fill up, get on the local boy.

For those looking, I get the vibes here that it's quite the pick-up place, you'll see many furtive glances in the direction of you or other patrons. Shell Roadhouse

As far as eating on the highway goes, this is OK. There is a great range of food from pre-made…read moresandwiches to your usual fried delights and hamburgers sponsored by your local cardiac surgeon, to hot roast meat rolls. What lets this place down is the staff. They can't handle service smoothly when it is busy, and this is quite frequently, especially over summer and the school breaks. Their systems and processes are disjointed and the staff get surly. Nothing flows and quite frequently your order is wrong or takes forever. I would call this a major issue because the prime purpose of a roadhouse is to deliver food reasonably quickly and efficiently. We aren't looking for Michelin Stars just old fashioned country service delivered well. Why do I keep going? The service station it is attached to is very good - the opposite in fact. Efficient service, friendly staff. I use the service station more than I use the roadhouse, so grabbing a bite to eat here is an easy option.
Yeah, I know, this is a service station, and I've noticed that people generally don't Yelp about…read moreservice stations at all. However, this isn't your ordinary, everyday city service station because it also contains a roadhouse - the Coolabah Tree Cafe. Actually, the roadhouse isn't all that fantastic, and I wouldn't expect good coffee, or a fancy breakfast offering if you stop by here because, well, it's a truckstop. So, the question if why do I come here? Well, as it turns out when we drive to Melbourne we always stop here. In fact I can't remember a time when we have simply driven past, or gone to one of the other places. Sure, it isn't fantastic, but at least I know I can get a decent breakfast.

So yeah, it's a service station, but there's so much more! Staff are cheerful and helpful and the opening hours are long (i.e. they don't shut up shop at 5pm). The coffee is pretty good, generally better than Millies up the road who used to hold the crown for best coffee in Nairne (I don't bother going back there anymore). They also bake some of their own goods which are tasty and well priced. There's a mini convenience store in there as well with the basic necessities. BIG HINT - prices are cheaper here than up the road at the Nairne Store. And they're not much more than you'd pay at the big supermarkets at Mount Barker. I was quite shocked at how cheap they were. All in all this is a local business that's isn't just worth supporting because they're local, they're actually extremely good value for money (in many ways I think they're cheaper than they need to be), friendly service and lovely quality produce.

I went there with a family member who was getting a service on her Mitsubishi and there were several things we learnt. Firstly, the service itself was reasonably expensive (for a student!) at around $800, however this did include two parts that had to be ordered in and fitted in the car. Also, because it was a Mitsubishi, you are buying parts and fittings that are intended for your kind of vehicle which should mean they work better and should last longer until you need another one. There was very little waiting period in getting a service time and they were reasonably quick about it with same-day service, even when there had to be new parts fitted. They also called to keep us informed what was happening with the car and asked our permission before installing the new parts. On my first visit, I had trouble finding the place as the signage was so hard to see but fortunately they have redone it in the last few years so it looks fresh and is easier to find. However, what I liked straight away was that the space was huge so it was easy to drive in and get a quote. On both occasions the work was done quickly and the finished work was exemplary. The staff are friendly and helpful and always happy to drop you off somewhere or organise a hire car. When I picked my car up last time I hardly recognised it, not only did they fix the minor damage but they had washed and polished the car as well as giving it a detail inside. The repair of the body was excellent but the paintwork was absolutely appalling. The repairer was specifically asked to not wash or detail the car the car, or touch any of the panel work that they did not have to paint - I asked this from previous experience with panel and service shops. Well I got the car back and it went from having near perfect paint very sub par condition. The panels that weren't painted had swirl marks form a incorrectly used buffer throughout, almost all the panels had additional scratches on it from being poorly washed, and even the brand new paint was not safe . They were even kind enough to leave a hand print on the B pillar... When they were approached they agreed to see me to discuss my concerns and I was told in essence 'What's your problem'. and when I asked why they washed the car when they were expressly asked not to (and agreed not to) I got told "I cant give it back to you dirty". I got no resolution from Brighton Crash aside from an offer for a band aid fix and had to go through months of insurance remediation to get the car fixed properly.
