I am currently updating my Review for this San Diego County Courthouse, Hall of Justice . I had to…read moreattend a hearing date on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 9 AM in Department 61. I was dressed in a professional business outfit and I also brought all of my personal documents with me to prove my case that I was really physically assaulted by this person named Richard G. his nickname is Travis. I also brought my witness her name is Michelle with me . She was properly prepared to testify for me regarding this court case. This person Travis has committed 2 crimes on me that have resulted in 2 Felony charges against himself. The first criminal charge is called Elder Abuse and the second charge is called Physical Assault with Elder Abuse. Travis is a former tenant who was renting out a room in this Aging and Independent Living House for (6 months). I am currently working as the House Manager and I also live at this location in San Diego, CA. I believe that Travis was taking these illegal drugs on the date this horrible incident happened to me in this house. I filed for a temporary Restraining Order against Travis to protect myself from him in him trying to attack me again at a later date. The owner also filed a permanent restraining order against Travis so he isn't allowed to enter her property at all. When I arrived at the San Diego Hall of Justice Building with my witness Michelle on October 5, 2025 at 9 AM in Department 61, I saw the courthouse chairs in the back was completely full with 100 people waiting for their cases to be heard by the judge. I had to check in first with this San Diego Sheriff who was sitting at the Check-In Desk at the front in the courtroom. I told him I have an 9 AM hearing with this judge that date. Afterwords, when I was checked in by this Sheriff Deputy. Me and Michelle sat on the left hand side in the first row in these comfortable padded chairs waiting for my name to be called by the judge. After I waited about one hour later, I was the 5th person's name that was called by the judge. The case was called Frances versus Travis is his nickname or Richard is his real name. Then this judge asked me "Frances are you ready to testify against Travis for your court case?" I said Yes your honor. Then I turned around and I saw that Travis was standing up at the very back of the courthouse with his stepfather Joe. The judge asked "Travis are you ready and prepared to plead this case against him?" The judge waited for Travis's response back . Then I saw Travis said with his very nervous voice that he wants a CONTINUANCE. That means Travis wants to push back and delay my Hearing Date for another month. The Judge said that Travis and everyone who is in his courtroom is allowed only one continuance per case. The judge also said that Travis and nobody is allowed to have a public defender or an attorney help someone defend them in court. Everyone has to present their evidence with witnesses and their proper documentation to him the judge. The judge said "Frances is it okay with me that Travis has asked him for a CONTINUANCE? " Then my response was Yes it's okay with me. But in my opinion It was not okay with me. I wanted to get this hearing over with that date. The Judge set up another court hearing date on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 9 AM in Department 61. The location is at the same Hall of Justice Building location. I was very disappointed because Travis should have just pleaded guilty to his 2 felony crimes that he has committed to me on Friday September 5, 2025 . Now I have to wait again one month later to plead my court case . That's the reason I gave this review a (3 stars) as being okay. In my opinion, I believe that people like Travis should not delay the time in asking for a CONTINUANCE. Travis is guilty of the crime he has committed against me. Travis should have accepted his punishment by the judge instead of pushing back my Case until October 30, 2025. I Googled the Punishment for committing 2 Felonies against me on Physical Assault Charges. The punishment is serving time in a CA State Prison for 6 to 7 years and that person has to pay a $10,000.00 Fine to the victim for Restitution. I hope that Justice will be served on October 30, 2025. Travis needs to be punished for these charges he has committed against me

On top of that, the lawyer mistakenly filled out a box he shouldn't have, causing another 2-3-month delay. The third time I sent it in, they told me my fee waiver had expired after six months--something I wouldn't have had to deal with if they hadn't taken so long to return my paperwork. When I finally made it to the sheriff's office, they hadn't checked off a required box, forcing me to go upstairs for reprints, which added another 30 minutes to the process. Now, with new laws and protocols for bank levies, even the staff seems unsure about the procedures. While all the employees have been friendly and helpful, the overall government system is extremely disorganized, making the entire process frustrating and inefficient.

Not much to say about this building its large, four floors and when you first walk in there is an elevator, and stair case. I didn't see any office workers, security personnel or sign in desk. According to the directory on the wall the first floor has the following offices: County Counsel -Juvenile Dependency, Primary Public Defender and Alternate Public Defender. The second floor is the Human Resources Dept. On the third floor you have the Sheriff Detention Medical Office, Auditor and Controller Office: Revenue & Recovery and Office of Audits and Advisory Services. The fourth floor has the Auditor & Controller Office. I am not sure what goes on in these offices I can only guess. Outside of this building was a huge parking lot and patio area for taking breaks, lunch etc. There were also four other buildings just as large in the same area. They buildings were in excellent condition, the parking lots and patio was clean.

We supposedly voted, but I don't trust who counts those votes. And why do we even recycle when only 23 percent goes to actual recycling program and the rest gets trashed? I waited for someone to answer the phone for an 1hr and 10 minutes. When this man answer and I explained to him that I need a zooning he told me to look for the zooning info in the City website, then asked him about the Conditional Use Permit; he asked me who told me for it, I let him know the ABC told me to get it, he started to tell me almost scolding me that it was a long process and that I had to read Info 143 & Chap.12 to star the process and that I needed help. I asked him for guidance if it was city help or an outside professional help. He told me that "no", that the process I needed to do it by myself and proceeded telling me he'll leave the call because he had a bunch of people to answer. Jokingly told him that I knew that because I waited for more than an hour for him, I did not say it with bad intention or anything but he felt attacked or offended, I don't know, but annoyingly told me that he couldn't be with me for 20 minutes (as if he was losing his time) when he needed to answer other calls. I then reaffirmed him that I knew he was busy I waited for more than an hour. Mind you, he spend 6 min with me on the phone the whole call! The call could have been shorted if his phone worked properly but because his phone voice was not working well and could barely heard him when it was not blurry or the sound was cut or he spoke so fast that I had to ask him to repeat what he said, I know the phone call, if it was for him, wouldn't have lasted more than 3 minutes. I know that they have information on their website but sometimes it is very general or confusing and that is why I called them, and that why they have that service as well and I don't feel I received the help that I needed.

Correction: That may or may not be true, as I don't really know Lemon Grove's actual borders, so I may have spent time passing through here on the freeway without knowing it. It seems like a pretty run-down city. I'm all for a diamond in the rough and not judging a book by its cover and understanding and acknowledging an old place's charm or at the very least its onetime charm even if that charm has long since faded. I'm not even basing my review on how the city looks or makes me feel. This review is based on two things: the conditions of the streets in Lemon Grove, and its neighborhoods. I don't think I've seen asphalt is condition this poor anywhere other than abandoned roads, and even many of those roads had portions that were still decent. It feels like 70 percent or more of Lemon Grove's streets need their pavement replaced badly. I may be being generous. Why do citizens put up with this? I'm not talking about potholes; I'm talking about degraded asphalt that should have been replaced decades ago. I'm not exaggerating. Just based on that, I would never voluntarily live here. The neighborhoods are cute in an old-California spread-out kind of way. Not quite the 1950s, but the 1920s and 1930s, or at least what I know about them. There are lovely groves of orange and lemon trees in people's yards. Some of the houses are run down, of course, and some front yards are a mess. But other people take pride in their little pieces of the American dream, which makes the sorry state of the street conditions that much more depressing. I think Lemon Grove is my least favorite city in San Diego County.

I'm always reluctant to sign up for any kind of networking type companies but after doing my research I feel that the San Diego regional Chamber of Commerce will be the right fit for my company. There are plenty of options out there but I feel this one is the best. Time will tell. So far I'm very happy for the service that I've been provided and all of my questions have been answered without hesitation. When I first started in sales, this organization helped me learn alot. In addition, I made some lasting business relationships that turned into friendships that have lasted even after I moved out of San Diego. I would give the organization 5 stars except one thing: if you're not in friendly with the powers that be, and something happens with another member, you will not likely be handled in the most fairest way. Politics can play a role in member treatment as unfortunate as it is to say. I had an experience before I left San Diego that I know with certainty was handled very inappropriately, but I haven't had the time or energy to rectify or make a stink about. And at this point, what is done is done, I don't even live in Southern CA anymore. But if you go in, don't get on anyone's bad side, and go there to do your business this is a great place! You will meet alot of people! Course like anything, you have to sift out those that just want to trade cards and those that want to really learn about your business and develop a lasting professional relationship.........but it is well worth it, I made some great contacts at the Chamber that I'm still in touch with now!
