I love West Side preschool! I kept noticing the other families in our music classes carrying their…read moredarling triceratops tote bags and started chatting about their experiences and took a tour ( this is my fourth year with them, and I am so pleased). The teachers are so wonderful - I can personally vouch for the magic of Mrs. Anderson, Campbell, Parkman, McElroy and Blankenship. The co- op has existed for 50+ years and I periodically meet grown-ups around town who light up at the mention of it and say "I went there!" with a big grin. The curriculum is play based and rich in fun and foundational tactile experiences, they have a lovely outdoor play area in a protected courtyard, music time each class and they do wonderfully unusual but age appropriate projects with the kids ( making root beer from scratch, carpentry, a take apart day where kids get a chance to disassemble things like keyboards and toasters). The preschool shares a facility with West Side Church and warmly welcomes families to join in other church sponsored activities but save for the "thank you words before snack" (grace) the classes are completely secular and a very comfortable for families of any belief.

The program is fun for the children as they learn social and behavioral skills needed when they begin kindergarten. Their teaching techniques are research based and the wealth of curriculum they incorporate exceeds basic letter and number recognition. Welp, I went back to middle school to.....cross country ski!…read more While in the midst of a rare winterblast here in the Washington desert, I thought I'd write a lil' somethin' somethin' about places in my hood to carve in the snow. So yeah, this school's field and track area are huge and offer some decent places to play around when we have a few inches of snow. It's mostly flat, but there are a few declines to slide (or fall down, if you're like me). I sometimes just come here to let my dogs run around, too---especially when there's white stuff on the ground.

They offer a variety of two year degrees and offer affordable classes for people transferring on to four year schools. The office personnel are not very good at dealing with the public. They seem to forget that we pay their salaries and without us they would not have a job. They are not very efficient or helpful with your concerns. I would suggest handling as much of your issues online that you can. They don't deserve any stars for customer service. They campus is kept clean. There are projects going on constantly to improve amenities. The ambiance is generally quite easygoing. Students range from post high school to seniors but average age seems to be early to mid twenties. The biggest problem seems to be parking at prime class times between 8am and noon. Taking that into account they deserve a half star. The faculty is generally very knowledgable in their respective subjects. The technical trade departments are in touch with current trends in the work force and seem to have many connections in the community. The professors in general care about students that want to work hard and are willing to take extra time to help with learning. The tutor center usually has very competent people staffing it. If you apply yourself they go the extra mile for you. All in all it's a solid three stars
