My first review of September! I had to come here for a jury summons which it was my first time…read moreever being called for jury duty. I lived in Prince William for over 10-years never got sent one...moved to Prince George's summons less than a year! lol I was able to postpone it twice, but had to finally bit the bullet and come in to do my civic duty. So I would say the day went by smoothly as much as I guess it could when dealing with the local government and court systems. I arrived around 0715ish to park at the Equestrian parking lot which is free and waited on the bus to transport us to the courthouse. Note* the courthouse is a short walk so you can park them just walk if you want. Most of us did when we got dismissed. The line was already long when I arrived then after arriving at the courthouse another line for security. After getting done there you head to the jury room to wait and listen to the orientation. The only issue was the Bailiff who had a damn attitude like dude calm down. He looked like he needed to retire with his gun belt slang all low. Other than him the lady Ms. Bug kept the atmosphere light and bearable. It seemed like it was close to 200 folks in there and many of us were lucky enough to get out there before lunch time. I guess most defendants took pleas, cases dismissed or withdrawn. Hopefully it will be a year until I get another summons but we will see. Definitely bring a snack and water because I was lucky this time and was dismissed at a good time. But you might not be and have to stay longer like a couple of the other groups did. You don't want to be thirsty and hungry while you wait. I bought water but next time will definitely bring a snack or try to eat something before I head out in the morning.

Yea, yea, yea ... civic duty, jury of your peers, democracy ... we get it. NOT complaining about…read morebeing summoned today: Wed., 4/8/26. What's a SIN and a SHAME is learning today that the rules changed in October 2025 and this is more than likely going to now be an ANNUAL occurrence AND, to add insult to injury, I had to spend almost $10 on packs of crackers and chips in the Upper Marlboro Courthouse Cafeteria. BE WARNED TO PACK YOUR OWN SNACKS & LUNCH. *Sigh* The woman who does the orientation is STILL a hilarious and classy act ... she needs a raise. IYKYK Looking forward to hearing YOUR opinion.
