They compete very well on prices, have a pretty good range in stock and usually get pretty much anything the next day. They can usually do most work while you wait, and have a mechanic who is very competent and will be able to do most jobs on most cars. They have a mobile fitting service which is useful if you get a puncture. The waiting room is very basic with no coffee machine, but there's usually a mobile caterer just outside who does great bacon butties.

First time I've used this company - and the last too!…read more Worst MOT station I've ever been to (Kwikfit on Newmarket Road Cambridge). I was warned by a relative about their reputation for cheap MOTs but then failing cars for any reason, but I decided to go there because they charge less in the week than on weekends. Guess what -my car failed on a spurious point (i.e, my fog lights which are an aftermarket accessory) so I decided to take it to another garage as I'd never had a problem and I just didn't believe them. Sure enough it passed straight away without any issues or even any advisories!!! I told the garage that passed my car what had happened at Kwikfit and asked for assurance so they called an ex VOSA MOT trainer for clarification. They handed the phone over to me and he said there was no way my car should have failed. I later called Kwikfit but they just give you the runaround and I will not be going back to Kwikfit any time soon. They can't even spell their name properly!

They were a…read moreday late replacing it, quite abrupt (almost surly) and charged me £237.00 (without fitting) - I re-fitted the wheel myself once I gt home! I then went online and found 'Tyres-on-the-Drive' would have supplied the identical Michelin tyre, balanced and fitted all on my own driveway, for the princely sum of £128.00 all in! Need I say any more. I will no longer be using National Tyres!
