It's hard to articulate what a positive experience attending Montessori Manor has been for my children. We have seen noticeable and sustained improvements in their development after enrollment. Their speech, behavior, and even their eagerness to learn blossomed--they are actually excited to go to school and see Mrs. Leslie and the other teachers. My wife and I have both sat in during the morning and watched our children performing their morning jobs and have been thoroughly impressed. The children are focused on their jobs and developing their mastery over each task. The teachers are present but in the background, ready to help if needed but letting each child take the initiative to learn on their own. This is exactly what my wife and I wanted from a Montessori-style education: encouraging initiative and a love of learning in our children so that they can be self-motivated in the future. I understand the fear and worry that can go into selecting a preschool/kindergarten provider, which is why I am writing this review. We looked at other schools, including other Montessori preschools, but continue driving over 20 minutes each way to bring our children here because it has been such an amazing experience for each of our children.

The calm, prepared environment immediately put him at ease, and we've watched his confidence, focus, and independence grow every day. We especially appreciate Miss Leslie's leadership. As the director, she's created such an amazing program--her experience and passion shine through in how she trains the teachers and connects with every child. We're so happy he'll be returning next year for full-day. We're truly grateful for such a nurturing start to his education--highly recommend!

(Also I didn't feel like half day K was enough for her inquisitive mind.) The school was flexible about our unusual attendance arrangement, though understandably, it didn't cost much less for a half day slot vs. full day. They always made her feel welcome when she came in mid-day. She really loved it there, despite being a kid who chafes at rules at home - she really thrived in that environment. Teacher Angela was fantastic and they quickly gave my child appropriate work for her level since she started already knowing how to read and being able to do basic addition and subtraction. Their written evals were detailed and helpful, and I felt like they really got to know my child in a short time. Their summer program was fantastic and their extended care option was flexible for the times we needed a little extra care. They also had a fantastic "Parents Night Out" where they also welcomed siblings, and we took advantage of that a few times. This is a true Montessori, where kids are expected to learn how to be self-directed. We came from less-rigid Montessori schools, so getting used to the strict dress code was hard for us as parents, but my daughter was fine with it. Our daughter entered a rigorous Mandarin immersion program the next year in 1st grade, and Madrone prepared her VERY well for it. I'd highly recommend it if you are open to a more academic environment for your pre-K/kindergartner and want to encourage independence.

From the moment you walk through the front doors each morning, you're greeted with smiling faces and a warm "good morning." They know every child by name and make each family feel welcome. They are patient, loving, attentive, and take the time to get to know each child as an individual. I've never felt like my son is just another student in a classroom. They celebrate his personality, encourage his growth, and genuinely care about his happiness and development. I also really appreciate their student to teacher ratio. There are more teachers in the classrooms than I've seen at many other childcare centers, which means the children receive so much individual attention and gives me peace of mind. My son started in the First Steps classroom and has now moved into the Young Toddlers classroom, so we've had the opportunity to experience three different classrooms and many different teachers. One thing that has remained consistent throughout every transition is the genuine love and care the staff has for the children. Even teachers he no longer has still stop to say hello, give him high fives, and ask how he's doing. Seeing that they continue to care about him long after he's left their classroom speaks volumes about the kind of people they are. It never feels like they're simply doing a job, they truly build relationships with the children and their families. One of my favorite things about the school is how much they do to keep learning fun and engaging. As a STEM school, they incorporate hands on learning while also offering so many exciting activities throughout the year. My son looks forward to Music Mondays with Matt, art days, water play days, pizza Fridays, and the creative themes they change throughout the week. Over the summer they had a train come to the school and the kids got to ride on it, my son loved that! They even had an outdoor Robo Dance Party that came to the school. They are always thinking of the next fun thing they can bring to the school and it's truly amazing! They even have Soccer Shots as an added option for kiddos. They also host so many family events and holiday celebrations, including Mother's Day, Father's Day, Grandparents Day, Aunt & Uncle Day, and more. They truly make families feel like they're part of the school community. Safety has always been a top priority for me, and this school takes it seriously. The secure entry with double doors and coded access, along with locked and alarmed outdoor gates, gives me confidence every day that my son is in a safe environment. The playground is always clean, well-maintained, and a place where the kids can play safely. The communication is another huge reason we love this school. Through their app, I receive updates throughout the day with photos, what my son has eaten, diaper changes, water refills, nap times, and more. It makes such a difference knowing exactly how his day is going while I'm at work. I am so grateful that my son gets to grow up surrounded by teachers and staff who love him so well.
