Having worked in a proper old…read moreladies shoe shop which specialised in hammer toes, bunions and arthritis, I can appreciate this place. Or could. They do definitely cater for more mature customers from their styles (kitten heals and navy sensible work shoes with a half inch heel) and colours. Their stock is also a pretty good range and they seem to have a good variety of sizes, or are at least willing to investigate the possibility of ordering them in (very unusual in this day and age). However, despite all of the above and how nice the staff are I can't help but feel that this shop doesn't sit right. It is for older customers, but it's still trying to straddle the style and fashion side of things. Most importantly, their shoes don't look that comfortable and - going by the leather - a bit overpriced. Though, I'm more than willing to put my reservations down to having had three years plus of very good shoe training (it was an old school independently run and owned shop - you get the idea...). Hence, to the average customer or window shopper - who is the over side of forty - this place is decent enough and an usual find in the immediate local area. So, worth a quiet afternoon browse.

It also seems to be one of those stores that always has a sale on, so maybe it's worth a browse of the sales racks. They did have quite a range of ladies shoes, from casual to flats to heels, and a range of brands too. But none of it was really my style and probably aimed at the older shopper (I'd say 50+), so maybe that's who would be happy to pay £50 for slippers.

I own a lot of Clarks shoes, mainly because…read moreafter one pair of their knee high Gore-tex boots and surviving lots of snow and ice in them, I went on to buy two more pairs. More recently, I wanted to get some new shoes which were stylish (ish) and good for walking. Again, Clarks were my go-to place and I got a pair of "glove puppet" flats which look a bit like trainers but they also have cushioning so you can wear them all day. They were £45 and so far, I totally love them - lets see how they hold up when I walk around Japan next week! This store at Silverburn has a good range and is very neat. I wasn't offered any help but there was quite a lot of customers in, and I was just browsing. I ended up deciding not to get another pair of the sneakers just now!

Eyecandy is a great little boutique on Clarkston Road, they have outfits which are all very…read morereasonably priced and they also have accessories such as belts and fancy scarves to go with them. The window display is ever changing and everything always looks very sophisticated. The clothes always look great quality and even though the clothes aren't ridiculously expensive, they look like they should cost a lot of money. My aunt has bought a few items from here and I particularly like a couple of scarves she's purchased from Eyecandy. Whenever I have ventured in, I usually have a browse at their costume jewellery, I got my mum a lovely brooch from here a few years ago. They have a good selection and many unusual pieces too. Great little place and the staff are really friendly too I also adore the name!
