We got in late and were very, very tired after a 12-hour drive. After discovering that we had to…read morechoose between water/electricity or sewer because the connections were too far apart, we chose water/electricity. This meant we had to be careful not to fill our gray tank. That was unfortunate. However, the worst was that the circuit breaker for the electricity kept kicking off, so we had no power to run our medical equipment overnight. After 3 phone calls to the office went unanswered, we gave up and turned our generator on. This caused great discomfort to some family members so we ended up having to turn it off. It was an uncomfortable, difficult night, so we didn't get much sleep. Sadly, the other RV with other family members had the same problem at their campsite as well. They had to run their generator all night. Hopefully, the management will come up with a better communication system to deal with problems at their campground when the office is closed. Thankfully, we were only there one night. Update - We received a phone call from the answering service at noon the next day. After explaining the problem, she had the manager call. He called just before 2pm (they close at 2pm everyday). He didn't believe what my dad was saying, but said he would check it out and give us a call. Haven't heard back yet. We deserve a full refund for such a miserable night - for both RVs. We will be sure to spread the word about the service at this campground with our friends who travel in their RVs.

I came here for a place close to where I was going to attend PA motorcycle training classes (which, btw, are free). Site #46 is quiet,... oh wait,... not really. The acorns are falling out of the oak trees this time of year and, well,... let me put it this way, "shots fired" would be my analogy of what these huge acorns sound like as they come crashing down on the top of my pop up cap and canvas covers. I'm a certified firearm instructor so believe me when I tell you the shots will make you jump throughout the night. Forgot to mention the restroom facilities. Not well maintained if at all. No sink to wash up, no toilet paper (thankfully, I did have some of my own - thanks, Honey for thinking of that). Ah yes, water. I was told I had water at my site and I did,... it flows slow enough that I suspect a reverse osmosis spigot is being utilized so you really MUST pay that 50 cents if you want to clean up. Once again, I'm thankful I brought 5 gallons of water with me to cook my Mountain House meals with. Have I forgotten anything besides the good night's sleep I haven't had since arriving? Funny, all these acorns, not one squirrel or deer to be seen anywhere. Hunters out here must have an exceptionally high success rate and killed everything. I live in Bucks County (appropriately named) where we are inundated with both species of wildlife so not seeing animals wandering in the woods is strange to me. Whoops,... they almost got away with it. Electricity. I paid for it and I got it. The 30Amp breaker doesn't work nor does one of the two 15Amp breakers so,... putting it simply, I got enough electricity to run the refrigerator OR the AC... but not both so I alternated between the two as needed. Damn, just thought about the road to the site,... about the width of a truck and two way? Paved,... mostly. Plenty to be desired especially if your driving a low ground clearance Odyssey like I am and, since air bags are part of my rear suspension, I'm conscientious about those two air valves and lines sticking down on the inside of each wheel back there. Poorly paved road surfaces didn't improve my overall impression of this place. On the bright side: It didn't rain.

Sorry no tents but well worth the stay. Swimming pool is salt water. The campsites are clean and kept. The staff is friendly and kind. The store is nicely kept and the treats are priced for the kiddos. This is a children's friendly campsite no need to spend my traveling far it's here. Now we drove from VA and we were surprised because we lived in Downingtown and never knew how nice the place is. They offer activities and there is a game room and activities center. Whether you're local or out of town getting acres campgrounds is a place to bring your family or just to come and relax.

Having been to Muddy Run park throughout my life for various things (weddings, boating, etc) the splash park is relatively new and I was eager to check it out. Best thing about it...IT'S TOTALLY FREE! While it may be on the small side it's loads of fun for kids of all ages, with buckets that dump, spritzers that spray, nozzles that shoot, and cascading water everywhere. There's so many features that they can interact with and ways to get wet - alittle or alot - your choice. The pad is clean and colorful with a retaining wall where parents can sit and keep a close eye. It's surrounded by a grassy area with picnic tables, shade trees, and a playground. You can have a picnic, or just soak in the sun's rays. While it's about a 40 minute drive from Lancaster City it's worth the trip as there's other things to do in the park - fish, boat, ride bike, trails, camp, ride horses, etc. GPS did send me the wrong way but once you find the park the signage will lead you right to it. I was pleasantly surprised by the behavior of the kids there, and parents were pretty attentive. There's a bathroom a short walk away, which we didn't go in, as well as an employee monitoring (but not lifeguarding) the area. The splash pad has it's on designated parking lot. From my research this is what I discovered: Pros: easy and quick drive from Lancaster Co Right on the bay Very community minded residents - everyone seemed to know each other Clean grounds from what I could see fishing pier beach area complete with sand Not a lot of rules about what improvements you can make - some campsites were quite elaborate while others were bare bones Cons: Yearly rent was high! $2700 + a year visitors are charged a fee per person per day and from what I'm told they are pretty strict Additional cost for boat dock use no pool, community room, playground, or pavilion A few social activities but not as many as one would expect No direct water/sewer hook ups bathhouses could use updating and a good cleaning showers cost 25 cents per 2 minutes nickel and dime fee for boat dock beach area was very rocky the first 4' into the water Overall a great place to visit as a guest but expensive as a resident

Something that stood out was the in-house food service. Feeding over 700 people 2 meals a day is not trivial and they did a great job. Food was always available on time (buffet style) and there were plenty of healthy options, including fruit, salad, and so on. The food team seemed to take pride in their work. Bathrooms: In good condition and functional. This is a campground with rustic cabins, so expectations are admittedly low, but they exceeded them.

I recently found out that there are so many other festivals that take place there. It's built over the Underground Railroad. It's a very spiritual land. Harriet Tubmans house is on that land. There's so much to do there. There's never enough time to spend there. The first time I went I said I'm never going home. The air is fresh and the lake is amazing. You can follow a trail. Becareful of the baby bear that's why I'm staying in the Cabins.

The things we liked about it: It was a lot of fun, water was clean, floats were large and varied with lots of different activities for the kids to do for all ages, plenty of shade and picnic tables, and beach loungers available. The things we didn't like: Bathhouse was gross, snack shack is unreliable-make sure you bring your own food, grounds were unkempt. If you pay for the observer fee, you're not allowed on the dock. I thought this was unfair. I wasn't going in the water, just wanted to take some photos, but they wouldn't allow it. I did have a life jacket on. With the exception of paddleboard yoga, they are open to organized groups only. We came with our Girl Scout troop. Guppy Gulch is not open to the public. As of August 2023: Pricing: $27/day for swimmers; $10/day for non-swimmers; $10/night per person overnight camping. Check-in begins at 9:30am; the water opens at 10am and the last horn blows at 4:45pm. Overall we had a fun day, but this facility needs a major facelift especially for the rest rooms. The port a potty was cleaner than the bathhouse, enough said!
