The water is chlorinated and that's a plus, some older kids need told to not run 20 mph bc there knocking down little ones.. . Today I was super concerned seeing a infant laying in a portable crib with he top over it in the blurring sun, this isn't good parenting are you trying to bake ur new born to death? I sure hope you checked your baby before it was to late , that just truly upset me today.. if ur hott in the sun so if your child!!!

Having been to Muddy Run park throughout my life for various things (weddings, boating, etc) the splash park is relatively new and I was eager to check it out. Best thing about it...IT'S TOTALLY FREE! While it may be on the small side it's loads of fun for kids of all ages, with buckets that dump, spritzers that spray, nozzles that shoot, and cascading water everywhere. There's so many features that they can interact with and ways to get wet - alittle or alot - your choice. The pad is clean and colorful with a retaining wall where parents can sit and keep a close eye. It's surrounded by a grassy area with picnic tables, shade trees, and a playground. You can have a picnic, or just soak in the sun's rays. While it's about a 40 minute drive from Lancaster City it's worth the trip as there's other things to do in the park - fish, boat, ride bike, trails, camp, ride horses, etc. GPS did send me the wrong way but once you find the park the signage will lead you right to it. I was pleasantly surprised by the behavior of the kids there, and parents were pretty attentive. There's a bathroom a short walk away, which we didn't go in, as well as an employee monitoring (but not lifeguarding) the area. The splash pad has it's on designated parking lot. We'll definately go back in 2021

It was not busy when we were there so we had our tent spot and nobody next to us (We stayed in spot 87) and bordered the Farm. Yes there are some farm smells but that is to be expected. Our car and our tent fit in the spot with plenty of extra room. The one way road is frustrating if someone is blocking it with their vehicle as it comes to end right where the dumpsters are. Clean bathrooms, Laundry open late, and a great pool! We would definitely return.

One question we asked is if the sites were level and if they are roomy. We were told they were. That couldn't have been further from the truth. The spots are indeed not level. The site we had was by the creek which the site sloped a considerable amount in the back down to the creek. Even getting to your site can be difficult for campers that have issues maneuvering their rig. All the roads in the park are single lane. We were instructed upon arrival that we need to back the whole way down the road to get to our site. We didn't have issues but saw others having problems. Also if someone is blocking the road, everyone is stuck. There is one way in and one way out to a lot of the sites. We got leveled up and settled in. We noticed how close together the sites were. It wasn't an issue at that moment because the sites around us were empty. There's barely room in the sites for your vehicle and being packed in like sardines with your neighbors isn't ideal for anyone. The next day, all the spots around us were filled. It's was very tricky to get in and out to go to nearby businesses because of how tightly packed. Not much at all to do in the campground. The "game room " is a joke. The store isn't very stocked with anything aside from drinks, snacks and souvenirs. So if you forgot something you need for supper, like milk you're out of luck. We actually had another reservation for this summer which we canceled before we checked out. We were told that the campground was under new ownership. I truly hope the new owners make some improvements. Definitely a lot of issues. Biggest thing I saw was just the roads and having no way out if something is blocking the road. If it floods quickly and a tree falls or someone is in the road, you're heading out on foot leaving your truck and rig sit. Also if you have small children, please be mindful of their safety around the pool. The fence around it had large gaps at the bottom of the fence that a child could easily crawl under. Overall, for the price, there are much better places in the same area I'd rather give my money to.
