We were actually very excited about it, but then the situation had changed and we were not able to go. We did know their policy that holiday weekends reservations were not refundable however we did feel like we contacted them well in time that they could of re-reserved our spot or even potentially kept our reservation but gave us the option to use it at a different time with credit. I understand policies, but I also think that in certain situations a business should be willing to try and work with you and they offered no flexibility. We feel like we've been put in a very tough situation, but a lesson learned and probably a campground that we will not visit again.

From my research this is what I discovered: Pros: easy and quick drive from Lancaster Co Right on the bay Very community minded residents - everyone seemed to know each other Clean grounds from what I could see fishing pier beach area complete with sand Not a lot of rules about what improvements you can make - some campsites were quite elaborate while others were bare bones Cons: Yearly rent was high! $2700 + a year visitors are charged a fee per person per day and from what I'm told they are pretty strict Additional cost for boat dock use no pool, community room, playground, or pavilion A few social activities but not as many as one would expect No direct water/sewer hook ups bathhouses could use updating and a good cleaning showers cost 25 cents per 2 minutes nickel and dime fee for boat dock beach area was very rocky the first 4' into the water Overall a great place to visit as a guest but expensive as a resident

The pool was great and seem to be well-maintained. There were plentiful bathrooms and showers everywhere. The woods and grass fields were lovely. Something that stood out was the in-house food service. Feeding over 700 people 2 meals a day is not trivial and they did a great job. Food was always available on time (buffet style) and there were plenty of healthy options, including fruit, salad, and so on. The food team seemed to take pride in their work. Bathrooms: In good condition and functional. This is a campground with rustic cabins, so expectations are admittedly low, but they exceeded them.

I recently found out that there are so many other festivals that take place there. It's built over the Underground Railroad. It's a very spiritual land. Harriet Tubmans house is on that land. There's so much to do there. There's never enough time to spend there. The first time I went I said I'm never going home. The air is fresh and the lake is amazing. You can follow a trail. Becareful of the baby bear that's why I'm staying in the Cabins.

Having been to Muddy Run park throughout my life for various things (weddings, boating, etc) the splash park is relatively new and I was eager to check it out. Best thing about it...IT'S TOTALLY FREE! While it may be on the small side it's loads of fun for kids of all ages, with buckets that dump, spritzers that spray, nozzles that shoot, and cascading water everywhere. There's so many features that they can interact with and ways to get wet - alittle or alot - your choice. The pad is clean and colorful with a retaining wall where parents can sit and keep a close eye. It's surrounded by a grassy area with picnic tables, shade trees, and a playground. You can have a picnic, or just soak in the sun's rays. While it's about a 40 minute drive from Lancaster City it's worth the trip as there's other things to do in the park - fish, boat, ride bike, trails, camp, ride horses, etc. GPS did send me the wrong way but once you find the park the signage will lead you right to it. I was pleasantly surprised by the behavior of the kids there, and parents were pretty attentive. There's a bathroom a short walk away, which we didn't go in, as well as an employee monitoring (but not lifeguarding) the area. The splash pad has it's on designated parking lot. We'll definately go back in 2021
