I'm extremely disappointed with our most recent and last visit to this Camp Bow Wow. Our dog, Boba (2 y/o Bernedoodle) has been to Camp Bow Wow at least 3 times in the last year for longer stays, usually 1-2 weeks. He's the least aggressive dog you'll ever meet. He's never had any issues at any dog boarding location. On our last visit (August 8-18), when I picked up Boba, I overheard the groomer in the other room tell the front desk person that a dog had a mat and they should tell the owner. I didn't hear a name associated with the dog or owner, but I was the only one picking up at the time. The front desk person never told me anything, but since Bernedoodles are prone to mats, I checked Boba when I got home. I didn't find a mat. I found an extremely infected puncture wound on his neck. I immediately took him to the vet and they confirmed it's a puncture wound and she was 99% certain he was bitten about 3-5 days prior based on the advanced stages of the wound and infection. I had to leave him there to be sedated so they could clean the wound, suture him, and give him fluids, and left with a bill of over $1,000 including medication (one week of antibiotics and a full month of Ursodiol). I contacted Camp Bow Wow to let them know the issue and that I wanted a refund of his stay since they wouldn't refund his medical costs. I was put in touch with the regional manager, Kelli Flynn, who said that the contract states that owners who leave their pets there are fully responsible if anything like this happens, but that if they find evidence that another dog did bite my dog, they would request that the other dog's owner pay the costs. The last communication I received from her was on August 20: "Thank you so much for taking the time to chat with me today. I will be in touch next week after I complete my investigation and review the footage from when Boba was here. Wishing Boba a smooth and continued healing process, and I'll talk with you soon." I have followed up with her multiple times and never heard any response. Even if Camp Bow Wow or the other dog's owner refuse to pay the costs, the owner should know that their dog attacked another dog. I'll be posting this review on Google and Yelp. read more

Wonderful customer service and friendly staff from initial call/email and through interview process. I love that the dog play happens with attentive, caring staff present in addition to being able to see her on the Camper Cams at all times. Unfortunately, our experience with Camp Bow Wow was disappointing from start to finish, and their complete lack of follow-up afterward is ultimately what pushed me to leave this review. We boarded our dogs here and had several concerns with the experience itself. One of the biggest was the lack of communication regarding our dogs being placed on breaks because of mounting/humping behavior. I called twice while on vacation to check in on my dogs, was notified the second time that they were mounting quite a bit but that was it. We completely understand that staff need to intervene when a dog is displaying inappropriate or disruptive behavior, and we have no issue with them separating our dogs when necessary. What bothered us was that we were not being communicated with when 1, I called (they only told us when we picked them up) and 2, about how frequently this was happening or how much time they were actually spending away from the play area. When you're paying for a boarding/daycare environment, I think owners deserve to know if their dogs are repeatedly being removed from play. We were also surprised by how small and crowded the play space appeared for the number and size of dogs using it. Between the size of the space and later realizing our dogs were spending portions of their stay on breaks, the experience did not feel like it was worth what we paid for. The billing situation made everything substantially more frustrating. A month prior to dropping our dogs off, we did the meet and greet to ensure our dogs were suitable according to their policy to attend daycare/boarding. Once our dogs passed that meet and greet, we asked to reserve boarding for July. We heard from the mouth of an employee that it would be around 580. We repeated that total and it was confirmed. Due to that miscommunication and what appeared to be an issue/error with the app or booking system, the actual cost of the stay ended up being approximately $400 more than what we had expected to pay. What made this particularly upsetting was that we did not learn what the true total would be until the day we dropped our dogs off. We were flying out that same day and had a plane to catch, so by the time we were informed of the actual amount, we had no realistic opportunity to research, tour, or arrange boarding with another facility. Had we been given the correct total beforehand, we would have had the opportunity to compare other options and decide whether we still wanted to use Camp Bow Wow at that price. Instead, we essentially had to proceed with the reservation because our travel was already beginning that day. Finding out at drop-off that we would be paying roughly $400 more than anticipated was frustrating enough. Having concerns about our dogs' actual experience on top of that made it significantly worse. After the stay, I emailed Camp Bow Wow explaining all of these concerns and requested a partial refund--not even a full refund. They responded and told me they would contact their manager regarding the situation. I gave them plenty of time to do so. After several weeks without hearing anything, I sent a follow-up email. Absolutely no response. At this point, their handling of our complaint bothers me almost as much as the original experience. If management reviewed everything and decided that a partial refund wasn't warranted, they could have simply told us that. I may not have agreed with the decision, but at least they would have communicated with us. Instead, we were told they would speak with management and then seemingly ignored altogether. We trusted this facility with our dogs while we were out of town and paid a substantial amount of money to do so. Between not knowing the true cost until the day of our flight, the unexpected ~$400 difference, having no realistic opportunity at that point to arrange alternative boarding, the lack of communication about our dogs being placed on breaks, the small play environment, and then the complete lack of response when we tried to resolve the situation privately, the entire experience was incredibly disappointing. I deliberately contacted the business first and gave them an opportunity to address our concerns before leaving a public review. Unfortunately, after weeks of silence and an unanswered follow-up, I don't feel our concerns were taken seriously. We will not be returning, and based on our experience, I cannot recommend this Camp Bow Wow location. read more

So far we've taken our goldendoodle puppy Midnight here so we could attend a couple get-togethers and yesterday to get our taxes done. The whole shop was decked out in adorable Valentine's Day decor for the month of February! His first visit was in January, they offered a free trial run of their doggy day camp to see if he'd be a good fit and Midnight did so well! Although we have a large breed dog, he actually feels more comfortable with small breeds and they have no problem placing him with their smaller dogs! We bring our own raw food for his lunch and they always keep to his feeding schedule, 12 sharp! We also have their app to view him on their live webcam, especially great if we're gone for hours and miss him! I would definitely recommend this location, the sweet camp counselors know him by name and get excited whenever they see him! Makes you feel good that they're in such good hands, getting exercise and surrounded by other furry friends! Versus staying home crated. I'd love to participate in some of their fun monthly activities for pups, as well as their themed photo-shoots! They offer full day and half-day camp, overnight boarding and grooming services! We have been taking our almost 2 year old Rat Terrier here for the past year +. All of the employees seem to love the dogs. Kevin is happy when he gets there and when we pick him up. I love that the App is very user friendly and the doggie cams are great. When I have had to call to move dates around, the staff always calls me right back if I leave a message. We feel that he is very safe. We have also used in other states while traveling. We now only trust Camp Bow Wow resort with our dog. My dog Jet has been going here for about a year now and we have nothing but good things to say about this place. The staff are all so kind and want to make sure you and your dog have a good time. They reach out if they have any questions about Jet and any preferences (feeding, meds etc). The doggy cams are always on so it's nice to peep in and Jet seems to always enjoy himself if it's just for day time play or when he stays when we are out of town (the longest he has stayed is 6 days). I absolutely love this facility, the staff is always so friendly and have already memorized my dogs name and I've only been there twice! They always have someone watching the dogs and if you're ever a little bit nervous, there's cameras that you can watch to see how your dogs doing. The staff here is so friendly and sweet with the pups you really can tell they care so much about the animals and enjoy their jobs. My pup has been there a few times and loved it. They have cameras you can watch the doggos play, and they take every precaution to make sure all vaccinations are up to date before you can play. They offer great packages as well. I'm not usually one to write a review, but this place has gone WAY above and beyond my expectations. I have a 1 year old yellow lab with lots of energy, and I have to take many overnight trips for work. All of the staff members are so incredible and they truly treat my dog like one of their own pets. I have taken her to 3 other doggy daycare/boarding places in the area, but this is BY FAR my favorite and also my pup's favorite. When I brought her to Camp Bow Wow this morning, she was sprinting to the front door! And when I checked her in, the girl at the front desk said to my pup, "Hello Hazel, I've missed you!" It was adorable. I can say with absolute certainty that I 100% trust my pup staying and playing at Camp Bow Wow. They have extremely flexible drop off and pick up times, and I HIGHLY recommend adding on the "play pals" enrichment if you have an active pup - the pictures that they send from the enrichment sessions never disappoint! (they are usually pretty hilarious). It makes me sad that I cannot bring my dog with me everywhere, but I am so happy to have the incredible staff at Camp Bow Wow to trust with my best friend. read more

The counselors are THE BEST! They love our fur babies!

What a bummer. We first called maybe 6 or 7weeks ago to try to reserve a spot for our dog. They let us know that we would need to get her up to date on shots, etc and we did. In early May- we ran the dates we were leaving town in Late June by the employee on the phone and she said that there would be "no issue" confirming our reservation and we had a behavioral interview scheduled. Here we are, 5 days out from our vacation with the behavior interview scheduled for tomorrow. They call us less than 24 hours before to cancel the appointment due to limited employee availability. We ask to reschedule ASAP so that we can make the reservation work and the owner says that there's no way they can make that work because they have been fully booked for weeks. I'm not one to ever post a negative review but this has us absolutely scrambling before our vacation and they offered nothing to us. Had we been told the truth from the beginning we would have reached out to more options. If this were my organization I would have at a minimum offered some type of free stay in the future. read more

So far I have had nothing but good experiences with this Fair Oaks Camp Bowwow. They have been incredibly patient and accommodating with me and I even overheard staff members very politely without namin names or placing blame discuss safety of a dog and benefits for the dog over them keeping the customer essentially loosing business to protect a nervous dog. First they were patient while we emailed back and forth multiple times and me getting all the shots done, the emails were always quick to come, polite and informative. Then they were accommodating when my nervous young dog failed his first interview (after he had more than a month of board and train at another place and was supposedly introduced to other dogs and taught how to behave). One of the employees even took the blame for the first failed interview and was very understanding. Then when there was a vaccine mixup at the second interview they were so nice about it (again this was the fault of the previous board and train place) and rescheduled me for a third interview. So far I had not dealt with any of the owners, just the front desk and back area female employees and they have all been very professional, accommodating, polite, and understanding. Whenever I see them on cameras they have gentle slow movements and help guide the other dogs to make my small dog less nervous. The only small bummer for me is that their website says they offer in camp training but this location actually does not. Owners if you see this please allow in camp training if possible, even simple like potty training and basic commands would be a huge help to customers like me who work and need the extra help. read more

Took our 1 year old dog in for his first visit. He had gotten this extra shot he needed to attend so we had to wait a few weeks which isnt a big deal but prolonged the process. On his first visit he didnt "pass" the interview due to "mounting " too often. Which is completely normal for a dog to do in a new environment (He is also fixed). Considering on the Cameras, other dogs were mounting as-well. The manager gave us a call to come pick him up and didnt give us any advice on how to fix this other than some expensive classes to take him to. Which makes sense however they were rude about it and didnt give us any pointers on what we could do in order to return. Our dog was told she couldn't attend because she is "too scared." They brought in 2 dogs on leash which dogs are NOT supposed to meet on leash. Then when taken off leash they kept encouraging the dogs to go up to our dog who just wanted to lay by the exit. Our dog was cornered by other dogs and then told she had to leave after 10 minutes. These workers clearly have no experience. Our dog has been boarded at another facility many times and has had no issues. Our normal place did not have availability when needed which is why we looked at camp bow wow. This place is very small and they cram 25-30 large dogs in a tiny room with no toys. We boarded our two small dogs over the Labor Day weekend, entrusting Camp Bow Wow employees with the well being of our pets. When we picked them up one of them had had diarrhea in his cabin that morning but they hadn't bothered to clean him up, so we had to take him home with feces on all four paws and on his fur in several places. Our other dog came home with an injury to her back that no one seems to know how it happened. my dog has been coming to camp bow wow for a little over a year now she loves it. The fact that there are cameras and you can watch your dog at any time is definitely a plus. The management iand the Camp counselors are awesome . they also greet you so warmly when you first get there and my dog is so excited she just bust through the door lol ..all so sweet and caring !! I love the attention that they give the dogs and The fun things they offer. they do photo shoots for instance for Halloween and I love that!! we can also access their grooming service which I have done several times with a husky it is a must lol!! also there was a time my dog cracked her toenail while playing so rough with another dog and they called us right away and they took care of it and they made us feel comfortable that everything was being handled!! bottom line great place to take your dog and know that my pup is being taken care of!!!! We love Camp Bow Wow! Adopting a pandemic puppy like everyone else left us in a bind when it was time to go back into the office for work. Dropping her off at day camp 1-2 times a week minimizes the time she has to spend in her crate or outside, and gets her socialized with other dogs. We set up an appt to have our dog boarded for a week while we went on vacation. 5 days into our vacation I received a call from Seth letting me know that there had been a small dog disagreement between our dog as well as a few others. He wanted our emergency contact to pick up our dog because our dog remaining at the facility was no longer an option. Needless to say my wife spoke to Seth on the phone and he completely back pedaled and said that they could accommodate our dog for the remaining days we were on vacation. When we came back into town to pick our dog up he was cowering and seemed like he had been abused by someone. Here it is over a week later and he is still not acting like our loveable dog that he was before his stay at Camp Bow Wow. Needless to say we will not be sending our dog there again. My wife has also made a point to let others know about our experience on the corgi owners group on Facebook. DO NOT SEND YOUR PUP TO CAMP BOW WOW read more
